Hi all, lots of great builds going on here.
Agent G: Very nice work! Camo looks great and good job on the turret numbers.
The unit markings you have on are for the second panzer division who served on the russian front i think. You'll be after markings for 15th or 21st panzer div. (or possibly 10th in Tunisia, dont know if they used this version of the panzer III though).

Here is my build for the campaign, 1:72 Italeri Autoblinda AB 41 armored car. Looks like a nice little kit, minimal flash and nice details, although the rivets are a bit to small and the tread pattern on the tyres is so light it's almost non existent.
Cheers,
Tim

Nice choice Tim! If I remember correctly the 1/48 kit has the same problem with weak tread pattern.

G: Impressive, I may ask you for pointers some time when I run across that kind of decal situation.

List has been updated. Will post a screen capture soon. Keep up the excellent work guys!

Hi gents;

I have been working on my Pz Kpfw IV Ausf F the last two weeks and this is what I have done so far. Some of the PE has been somewhat tiduous and since I am still learning how to handle it, very time consuming. I have a very long way to go.

Your PE is looking good Ralph. I have changed over to Gator Glue for gluing PE, it works tremendously better than superglue and is much easier clean up. It does have a quick tack time if you are concerned about that. You just hold the piece on for a few seconds and you're good to go

Hi all.
Nice work on the PE Ralph, i've only ever used small amounts of it myself on builds so I know your pain!
Jeremy: Gator glue? i'll have to see if they sell it over here.

Progress so far on the AB 41. There is quite a few injector pin marks, fortunately most of these are in places you wont see.
The fit so far has not been great. The two halves of the car are joined together with a double pin type set up which had quite a bit of movement, this didn't inspire me with confidence that all the other parts would line up well. So a hasty clipping of parts and some quick gluing was the only option!
Some small gaps were still present so used some glue to bodgy them up as using putty would have resulted in sanding off the already light rivet detail. Seems to have done the trick.

Anyway it's coming together alright and should be finished the build stage by the weekend, i'm looking forward to getting some paint on it.
Cheers,
Tim

They are local to the US, but do ship internationally. Here is the initial review over at Aeroscale:

Gator Glue

The formula has since been improved even more to address a slight issue it had, I believe with clear parts. Merlin and I have both used the new formula without any problems.

Gauze scares me, I'm looking to you Sal!

I like the way the radioman is just sitting in the middle of freakin' nowhere. It really does capture the feel of the place way back when.

Lookin' good!

Jeremy, when you're in and around casino's all day, it effects the way you express yourself. LOL

Hi G!
thank you for the tip on the stowage rak!
I'll do something similar (and post here some pictures, too).

I also like the outcome of your P III, only the stwage itself, puzzle me a bit.
You added what reminds me of a milk container (I don't know the English world...) and seems to me out of place in the desert... (I have highlighted the thing in red)

ciao

OK Jeremy talked me back into this.

Nice work going on, some great PE and decal work for sure. Just had a chance to skim through the posts.

No extra cash for anything so I went ahead and dug through the kits. Looks like the Tamiya Greif will be my project. I also found a PE sent for the Greif except it’s for the DML Greif kit, but I’ll use what I can.

Been reading up on this kit and it seems to be a bit of a horror story, Tons of problems and corrections, I think I’ll keep them to myself and let you guys see if I missed or incorrectly did anything, that way maybe I can sneak a couple through…..

I’ll go over and re-enlist,
Thanks Jeremy

Eduardo and G: For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure that I've seen those milk can looking containers on DAK vehicles. Just don't quote me on that..

Bob: Rock on! And you have plenty of time to wrestle the bad parts out of that Grief

I was looking through my Panzer III's and IV's and couldn't for the life of me find out which kit I got for this campaign, so I did some more digging and found my build, the Dragon Panzer IV Ausf. E. It's all set up for DAK operations, but I'll have to clear a few other campaign projects before I get started with it

Edoardo, I would be the first to refuse a drink of milk from a can such as that, especially in the desert! That came from a Legends stowage set for a PZ IV, and a bit of checking revealed most of those items were generic anyway. The way I see it, they used anything that held liquid. That's my story and I'm stickin' with it.

Besides it looks cool back there.

Ok, It needs an overall flat coat, and some small details, but I'm calling this 95% finished.

These were taken outside in that good desert sunshine.

This is my final design regarding the stowage. I think.........

Here's what I intend to put this on.

I found this at my LHS today. G & S Models out of South Africa. It's titled "Sidi Barrani 1940".

Ralph: the PE is looking good. I think I also need to give Gator Glue a try.

Tim: looks good from here.

G: your running gear and stowage looks good. I like the variety of items.

Sal: you've beaten me to my own diorama idea!! I look forward to seeing yours finished.

As for me, I've managed to get the panzer grey under coat on and will soon hit it with hairspray followed by some dunkelgeld.

Wayne, just an excellent job, amazed how good the turret numbers came out. Will look great on that base.

Zon, nice painting, strickly a brush guy myself, never got the nak for the sprayer.

I guess I'd better start a posting progress and am already hitting problems,

And my small bit of progress;

Thanks Jeremy for getting me working again, feels great.

Bob: You bet, glad to have you back with us! I keep letting life get in the way and constantly find myself rediscovering how fun it is to build

Bob: Thanks for the kind words. I'm not careful enough to brush the whole thing, so I'm thankful for my airbrush. However, I do enjoy brushing the details since discovering Vallejo.

I just made a brief lists just covering the last pages few pages or o, it is quite impressive. You guys are really making progress on some very interesting kits.

Rommel would have liked to have had access to more of the entrants I'm sure. Like he said when he was promoted to Field Marshall " I would have rather he had given me one more Division" .

Erich; How is your M13/40 Command tank coming? I have not seen one completed before and am anxioyus to see it done.

G: Your III G is looking good, nice job on the stowage, something different, and the Cow Catcher. . I want that Base, Where can I get one??

Bob: Welcome to the fray. Rommel would have liked a little less "Greif" I am sure.

Tim: Nice progress on the Autobelindo 41, something else that I havn't seen. Keeo it coming.

Sal: Nice work on the Tiger.

Edo; Havn't seen progress on the Pz II Ausf J.

Tony: Nice progress on the 232.

Hopefully I can make more progress this weekend, maybe, I have a lot of PE to complete. It is challenging . Thanks for the Gator Glue tip, hopefully my LHS has it.

Ralph
