Thanks Greetz
I sprayed the OD base coat on the m36 and a red brown on the crusader today - no pics yet. Just gone done with a 3 yr old bday party and whooped.

Here's my completed entry, started just after Christmas. Italeri Crusader AAmk1 on a MiniArt dio base.

Very cool Crusader, Dave. The streaking on the turret looks great.
Remember the Crusader has sagging tracks and not tight tracks like yours. It catches the eye that the tracks are floating in mid air.
Great little diorama and fast build. Thanks for sharing

I know about the tracks, but these are what came in the box; and the budget doesn't allow for after-market tracks. Italeri's vinyl is so stiff it just ain't gonna sag!

Awesome Crusader Dave
a light hairdryer pass may fix the track problem.
like the weathering and the building, solid work.

I've also used superglued and jammed coins/sticks/etc between the hull and track to help stretch them down while the glue dries. Great looking scene.

You can also tie the tracks down with tread or thin wire to the wheel arms or the wheels themselves.
However, I have had a lot of success with the hairdryer method. Latest used on my T-34 in the under a different flag campaign tread.
Just be carefull with the heat. Some years back I made the wheels of a Marder oval instead of round.

Thanks for all the tips and comments re the tracks. I've tried all these methods in the past, but forgotten them all when I built this! Oh well, there's always the next build........

I have finished my Fujimi 1/76 KV-1. It is a very old kit, but the fit is actually ok.
The details are showing their age and the running gear is underscale with slightly too large tracks. Here I should have used the hair dryer method instead of muddying them up.
The decals could not come of the decal paper, so had to find new ones in my spares box.
Comments welcome.

James, it is sand, white glue, pastels, and water based paint.
In hindsight I think the mud is to heavy granular. I should have used finer sand. This mud would be better for 1/35 and not for 1/76.
Appreciate the comment.

Still looks good regardless of the scale. getting things to look right has always been a problem for braille. Your mud Dosen't look out of place
As for Me, I'm Done. But The Camera is Back with its owners for a while. and my Phone Cam Wont Do the Vehicle Justice.
Is it okay to put it in a diorama afterwards?

I sprayed Tamiya OD straight from the bottle and said the hell with scale effect right now. Then I misted some Tamiya Jadf brown for the dirt over the archer decals and Verlinden mask sprayed stars. Next up are washes, streaks, and chips.

Got started on the washes and streaks. I have some more to do here I see. I dropped the turret at the end and broke off the 50 cal. Picked it up and glued it together again and called it quits tonight. You can see the black oil paint stain on the turret tarp as I dropped it into paint too of course.

Looking good Greg. Are those decals or did you use a template? They look perfect.

Hi Matt, Thanks - glad you're liking it.
The stars were done with a Verlinden template mask.
The USA and numbers were from Archer Transfers.
I had misted with the airbrush more of the OD, then the brown to tone down the stark white.
Chips next, then it's on to the tracks and running gear

Dave: Great looking Crusader AA.
Jesper: Nice work on the KV.
Greg: Looking good!
Some progress on the Belgian T.13.
The rear hull with some added mud flaps made from plastic card.
On the front hull, sliced of the drivers vision port, sanded it thinner, and repositioned it open. Added the poorly moulded lights. And a dry fit of the fighting compartment, engine, turret basket with gunners seat, and two boxes which I assume is ammo.
Cheers,
Tim
