Sod the Mayans - thanks for this campaign! Gives me an excuse to dig out my Dragon T34 1940 model and Eduard PE.

I don't care if the world ends tomorrow. Just so long as I have time to finish up the kits on my bench. Errr...ok not tomorrow; maybe 2 months.

Hi Guys!

This will be my first ever armor build, just finished a Revell Albatros D.V as my first model build last weekend.

Found the website browsing for military model websites yesterday - it's a fantastic resource that you guys have here, brilliant stuff.

For the campaign I will be starting an AFV kit M3A3 Stuart V Light Tank. I haven't fully decided yet if I will livery as a June 44 British unit or a July 44 Yugoslav Unit - probably British I expect though.

Good luck to everyone.

Cheers, Stu

Welcome Stewart. Glad to have you on board. I hope you find this campaign entertaining and helpfull. I kind of like the Stuart, so I will be paying extra attention. Be glad you went with the AFV kit, instead of Academy's dog of a kit.

Hey guys,

I am thinking to sign up for this campaign... Also i have a luxuery problem...
I also want to sign up for art of the battlefield campaign, but don't have a artillery kit (yet).
I do have a KV-1 from trumpy that wil build verry quickly (with some extra PE and tracks)... I don't know if that also counts as a ''allied'' vehicle
(because it's soviet and don't know if that matters?)

Decisions, decisions....

Regards,

Remco

Whoa Stuart, hold your horses - I can understand your wanting to get going on your first campaign...but kick-off is not until the first of next month!
Cheers,
Dierk

@ Remco - fancy seeing you here! KV will be fine (mine's a T-34 1940) - after all, until the end of WWII the soviets were part of the allies, it was only at a later date that they became the 'bad boys'
Groetjes,
Dierk

This campaign has not started yet. However, your build would still qualify for these campaigns that have already started.

Since the Stuart is American-built, you can enter it in
All American Tracks
.
Since you want to do it in British markings, it qualifies for
British Armour - Past and Present.

@ Gary - I know we have rules for a reason, but don't be so mean to Stuart - he's a campaign virgin after all (no offence Stuart) and in my opinion we should forgive him the (perhaps 30 min?) work he's done. As this campaign still has relatively few enlistees I think it would be a better introduction to campaigning than making him jump into one that is already well under-way with many more participants. I think final decision should be with Matt- it's his baby, after all.

I don't think I am being mean. Stuart is raring to go. For all I know, he could complete his build before the end of the month! Why stifle that enthusiasm to build when he could complete it for some campaigns that have already started and his build qualifies for? Sometimes it is better to keep up the momentum than having to put the brakes on and continuing later (at least that is true for me).

I agree with Gary. Stuart, the kit you've started would be great for a campaign already underway. However, for this campaign you will have to find another kit. Allied kits abound and you can pick one up for a litle bit of nothing. I don't mean to be a harda$$, but those are the rules. I think that my decision will be a learning experience for you. I hope that you are able to complete this campaign. And, you should have enough time to find and build a kit for it.
I'm sure that the KV-1 was used later in the war, as Russia/Soviet Union was not a nation to waste resources.

Well Stuart, looks like you'll have to pop your cherry elsewhere But I do hope you can re-join this campaign with another kit
Gary and Matt - hard, but wise decision.

A small update. There may be an extension, as I am awaiting delivery from Brach Models in Italy. Italian postal service doesn't get the best marks.
