Sal

Looking very good. Nice work.

So the hockey game was on tonight, so I thought I would get some work done while watching.

And I was able to make some progress on the rear storage bin and basket. The PE is from Eduard.

I did manage to get the bogeys built the other night, so I am getting somewhere. Weekend coming, so hope to get all the PE tie downs on the rear deck.

Hey guys thanks for the comments, after i posted the pics I said to myself that the tracks looked a little plain, so I added some rust color and a dusty wash to them

Really nice work Sal

I think this is you best build so far. Your weathering is well done

Here is an update, some of these SMALL Eduard PE parts are slowing the build a little, but I think the extra work will definately pay off in the end.

Some nice builds all around. Ok gusy. I said I would be building the M32 ARV with T1E1 mineroller. However, it does not look like I will recieve the base for the mine-roller in time. Therefore, I will build the T1E1 as a personal pleasure and do a M36 Jackson for the campaign.

Campaign Bail Out

I know that this isn’t the usual campaign post, never the less I feel compounded to let you all know the reason I’m bailing out of this campaign. Of late I have been finding building to a deadline soul destroying in as much as I have begun cutting corners, building very quickly, and making a right hash of the project I happen to be building. The bottom line is I have no longer been enjoying the hobby, and in all honesty it is a hobby and should be enjoyed as such, and it shouldn’t be seen as a chore, and that’s how I feel it’s become, a chore. So I’m going to go back to building whatever I like, at my own pace. Enjoy the rest of the campaign, and I’m sure I’ll see you all on a campaign in the future.

@ Jason, Sorry to hear that, but if that's the way you feel about it it's probably the right decision - unless, you approach campaigning from a different angle: If you enjoy campaigns just do them - and if you finish the model in time, great - but if not, it's hardly the end of the world...just a thought...
Cheers

@Jason: I completely understand where you are coming from. I feel the same way. But, every time I try to get out, the campaigns drag me back in. I have swore to never host another campaign, but have too many good ideas for them. I won't enlist in another campaign, after the Afghanistan one. Looking forward to seeing some of your builds.

Work is progressing, spent the night adding turret detail. The PE set from Eduard for the Stuart is great. Would highly recommend it.

My M-36, so far. I'm somewhat disappointed with AFV Club. The fit on some of the pieces is poor. The directions mislabel some of the pieces. And, some pieces just don't fit. Not to mention the many ejector pin marks. I have been building this haphazardly. My airbrush set up is outsider. I try to build in the mornings and evenings. So, I can't very well paint after 6:45. This means assembly of only parts that are to be painted the same color.
First, the hull assembly(I have added more detail since I took these photos)

The rear hull(the shovel simply didn't fit, so I relocated it)

I made the tow cable out of picture hanging wire

The turret

Poor fit lead to putty and superglue wonderland

Matt - Looking very good.

Well the Stuart is ready for primer. As always I will be using Tamiya Fine primer. I left the bogeys off for ease of painting.

I originally chose a Bronco Staghound as my kit. However, that isn't going well, my old fingers just can't handle all the tiny bits in this guy. More than one has simply disappeared.

So, I'm going to switch to an older kit and add-ons I've had around for a long time, the Academy M7 Priest with Eduard and other after-market stuff. I'll only use the PE I can handle, and there's a lot of that.

I ordered tasca bogie replacements, and tracks, I'll add a picture when I get them.

Any ideas where to get a barrel?

Dave: The Priest has a M1A2 105mm gun. You may have to cut the barrel, but any M1A2 barrel should fit.

Playing around with this Sherman today - building still in progress. The tracks didn't go together as well as I hoped.

Greg: the tracks and overall build look very good. I do notice that there is a gap on the lefthand side at the last roadwheel.

Thanks Matt. There's also a goof you can't see well at the top of the rear wheel track and the same on the opposite side. Nothing some mud or debris won't magically make disappear I guess.

Paint on, used Testor Military Master Acrylic Olive Drab, added a little MM Acrylic DunkelGreb for highlighting. A very subtle dot filter with oils, Primary Blue, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Sienna.

Now onto the final details and weathering.

Hello Guys.

For my next build I'd like to do something on the small side again. Looking through the stash I've come across a Tamiya Universal Carrier Mk II the Forced Recon version..

If there is no objection, I think I'll join the campaign and start this one in a couple of days.
