Bad news I'm afraid Scott, I dug out the Abrams box this morning but there was no spare track in there. I'll check my spares stashes and contact you if I find anything, but I'm not optimistic.

Really sorry to let you down mate!

Cheers,
John

Thanks John. I will have another hunt around to see if I can find them?

I've suprised myself and managed to find my spares, but there are less than I'd hoped. 22 individual links plus three lengths totalling 18 links. My reckoning is that about 54 links are required per side if you don't include the hidden top run, so we're still about 14 short. However... I've also got an unstarted Revell M1A2 which if built would free up enough links for you.

Tell you what Scott, I've got four Humvees that I'm half way through building (they were birthday presents that were given on the strict understanding that I finish them... as if I wouldn't!!!) so that'll give you a couple of weeks to search out your tracks. If you don't have any luck I can build the M1A2 for the 'Strictly OOTB' campaign, and send you the spares (probably about 1 month turn-round). Would this help?

Cheers
John

Howdy folks!

Just checking in quickly to show you some progress. Though not the best pic it's all I have at the moment. trying to get three projects finished before we move to our new house in August and time is limited. Decided to turn it into a brit NW Europe Stuart III. Since this pic it also got a wash and I should start with the heavy duty weathering this weekend.

Cheers!
Stefan

PS: Nice progress, Big John!

The track seemed to work fine, I have also toned the weathering down a bit.

I have been looking through the stash and found a few builds that need finished.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm not real crazy about the kit tracks. Thinking about picking up a set of AFV Club or Hobby Boss tracks for it.

No problem Scott, I'm always happy to help a fellow braille builder. Ironically it may be you that's done me a favour, by giving me a reason to start the M1A2. I'd forgotten just how well Revell Abes go together, great fun!.

Congrats on finding the tracks and congrats on the finished build - it looks really cool!!

Stefan: The Stuart is looking really good, and like Bob I'm particularly impressed with the stowage. The last Stuart I made was a Matchbox 1/76 when I was a kid... I seem to remember it was a nice kit, but tiny (might keep an eye out on eBay for another).

John: That really is a superb paint job! I'm always in awe of modellers who've mastered use of their airbrush, my few attempts have been awful!!

Cheers to all!

Stefan - looking crisp
Scott - can't roll without tracks so looks like it all worked out

Almost done with these Evolution figures, then to add the mud to the scene.

Im throwing my hat into the ring with this campaign since I should be able to finish. My entry will be my Trumpter Sturer Emil with Lionmarc tracks and Armorscale barrel. I will take some pictures either tonight or tomorrow. I started this build roughly 4 years ago when the kit came out and then real life and work got in the way.

Thanks again Bob.

I added some spackling, which I plan to sand on the road portion and add chunky mud bits from the tracks churning it up. Still not exactly sure how to proceed from here to make the muddy field on the left side by the tree trunk .

Thanks Bob.

Here are some progress pics of my Stubborn Emil. I have the superstructure mostly together, the main base is semi-primed flat black, The treads are only partially assembled and the wheels and sprockets are in a sepereate bin. I need to get crackin.

Here are the Lionmarc tracks

Here is the hull semi-primed

Here is the super structure

and finally here is the whole "Shebang"

Hopefully I will get some time tonight to work on this beast. Any thoughts or comments welcome.

Cheers

She looks do-able. Once you get past that track assembly, it looks basically ready for paint

Greg, nice job on the figs!

Brian, looks like you have your work cut out for ya. One of the more interesting German vehicles.

I'm calling mine done. Not perfect but good enough. Thanks for a great campaign!

Cheers!

Nice Stuart, Stefan. That is a nice dirty running gear. You could spice it up a little by adding spot washes changing the tone of the brown colour in a few places on the running gear. Just a thought. Great build!

Nice layout of the diorama, Greg. It looks great and the slightly different height levels of the diorama works very nice. Looking forward to see more.

Congrats Stefan! Looks Sweeet! I just picked up Zaloga's Modeling US WW2 armor book and it looks good. I bring it up because your stowage on here is top notch

Update on my Sturer Emil. The Emil had entered the paint booth. I also noticed that some of my previous photos dissapeared when I moved them to a different album in Photobucket. I will re-post here.

Here are the old photos from above.

Here is Emil with a base coat of German Grey

I have also managed to get one full length of track done. Need to get the second length done and then play with fitting them and then take them to the paint booth.

Time to get to work.

Cheers

Thanks for the kind comments guys! Jesper thanks for the tip. You're right, my mud tends to look a bit onecolored. I enjoy the building part more than the painting and weathering...

Cheers!

Well Gents I have another update. Luckily my 15 month old son decide to cooperate this morning and actually take his nap which allowed me to sneak downstairs to work on my Sturer Emil. I managed to get the tracks together and a primer coat of Tamiya Metallic grey on them. The Lionmarc tracks are quite nice.

And here is a close up of the detail

I also managed to start the weathering of the hull and superstructure.

Sorry for my picture qualities. Im still working on my photography abilities.
