Hi folks,

Well if getting things done is the name of the game I have plenty to keep me going. This is the Cromwell Mk IV, it's even older than the Steyr. I first had a go at upgrading it shortly after I joined the site. I added the Verlinden external boxes, but the PE was way too advanced. This is how it looked then.

It looked sort of half done, but just not right. This is how it looked this evening when I got it out of the box.

The plan is to repaint the figure, add the missing air recognition starr, repaint the ammo boxes, tie them down and try and bring out some of the detail. Then add some decent weathering to make it more acceptable.

The Cromwell is a grand kit and whilst this was a sound enough build it just never look right to me. If I get carried away I might add some grab handles too.

Hi folks,

7th Armd Div were one of the units equipped with the New Cromwell Tank as their MBT. It was a reliable and fast tank and also used by the other Divisions in the Amroured Recce role. It was alos limited to the 75mm gun and therefore Vc Fireflies were intigrated into the units at Troop level.

Given the low travers of the gun I haven't found many pictuers of them piled high with stowage rather that seems to have been kept to about the height of the rear cover.

Anyway that's by the by, I'v e given the paint a make over and added a a fair bit of mud and dust. Added some support brackets for the tow rope, and started on the rear stowage. The figure is also getting a repaint and some unit markings.

I also added a couple of the Resicast fire extinguishers although these are slightly big for the LHS so I've set that one at an angle.

Options for stowage are again form Resicast.

Here is my entry for this campaign, Hasegawa's Daimler Scoutcar, which I dug out at the same time as the Humber I did for the Wheeled Armored Vehicle campaign

It's mostly built, still need to add a few parts such as the exhaust and the wheels, and needs a paint job and decals. I'll probably use a desert finish on this one.

@AlanL: Nice looking Cromwell. I've got one of those almost finished as well and may pull it out for this campaign if I have time. I complete botched the paint job on it as the color came out way too green/yellow. What did you use on yours as the base color?

Hi Mark,

Look forward to the build.

For base paint I use about 50/50 Tamiya XF61 Dark Green and XF 62 Olive Drab. Add to that some drops of Vallejo 913 Yellow Orhre until you get the desired shade. The orhre will thicken the paint up quite a bit so stirr it well and apply as needed. I brush paint and always apply it with a wet brush.

Hope that helps.

Finally got back to the bench and managed to get some tracks on my Sturer Emil. Here are a few pics. Next I need to start painting the interior.

Please forgive my photogrphic abilities. It is another work in progress.

Hello all. Got alot more done on my Stryker this weekend. Its been raining for 3 days so had plenty of time. I'm building Trumpeters version and it goes together nicely. No real fit issues. Some parts have a bit of flashing but its very minor. Scale seems to be quite accurate as well. Heres what I have done. Not much building left.

hi,
I know it's a little late in the game, but can i still join in?
Here's my B-1 Centauro. It's been sitting on the shelf for almost a year. Not sure what to do with her and lack motivation and some of the PE is a PITA.

Here's how i'd like her to look, some inspiration

I'm actually thinking of trying some chipping on 'er. What do ya think?

Hi Ian! I think doing the chipping would be an excellent idea. I would try the salt method. If you have any questions shoot me a PM. It is very easy and works well when you need alot of chipping over a big area such as in the phot you posted. Anthony.

Hi Folks,

This is another one that's one step closer to being finished off. M4A1 Sherman Mk II (Late).

I wanted to add some new stowage to the rear.

New bulk stowage

Still missing a tow rope

Hi all,

I know I posted the Puma a while back - this is its sibling the 234/1. I've been chipping away at it for a while, using the infamous white-tac masking method for a hard-edged three-tone camo. (A whole large pack later, I finally got the results I wanted...)

The scheme is based on three pics of a vehicle I found on the web, and oddly enough the same scheme is illustrated in Cyberhobby's AM detailing set for the 234/1. Washes were added while it was still glossy, then it was given a rather heavy matte coat that has unfortunately frosted it a tad. Still, it looks ok - just a bit dustier than I intended! Now it's details and final assembly to go.

... and here it is finished! Another one for the collection, and another slot opened in my assembly line for something else to proceed.

Hi Sal,

It's the old Italeri 234/1 kit in 1:35. Not as crisp or accurate as the Dragon kit, but as I got it cheap it was plenty of fun! I replaced the jerry cans (From the Italeri fuel cans set) and added a few tweaks from Evergreen like the jack handle, but mainly it is "OOB".

Heres my progress on my Trumpeter Stryker. Completed assembly. Just finished painting it using my Badger 200 single action brush. Used Poly scale acrylic US Tactical Medium Green. To me Polly Scale is THE BEST acrylic paint. Goes on awsome with a brush as well as with an air brush. Tires are done using MIG Middle East powder and Mig Pigment fixer. Coating of future and decals come next. More to come

Nice looking Stryker you have there Anthony. I like the weathering job on the tires.

My Sturer Emils interior is painted, I am just about to start the weathering. I will post some pics soon.

I have finally finished my Sturer Emil. It was my first time trying pin washes and enamel washes. I rather enjoyed this build and paintjob. The Sturer Emil just looks plain ole mean.

Any comments welcome.

Hey Sal:

For the Mud I made a mixture of used coffee grounds, dirt, Gunze Mud paint, a pinch of water and drywall spackling.

Cheers

Congrats Brian - turned out great! Glad the washes worked out for you and I really like some of the effects you got on the grey paint. First rate
