GETTER DONE CAMPAIGN

Signed up. Looking forward to get started - or should I say get finished

[quote]Warren Inman, has suggested that we need another campaign for those projects that just did not get finished in time for their respective campaigns. So if there is enough interest I thought that we all could use a couple of campaigns that would cater to those builds that did not make it in time.
1. "GET IT DONE 2011 CAMPAIGN" for the first (3) months of 2011.
2. "GETTER DONE CAMPAIGN" for the last (3) months of 2011.
Let me and know if you are interested so that some sort of rules, ribbon, and campaign banner can be put together and this can be submitted to the higher ups for approval. This should be made available to all networks also.
Bob[/quote
Could it run for 3 years
How many is too many that need finished. Might join in the latter half, but finish the current range of canmpaigns first.
Good idea.

Gary, that is perfect I vote for your ribbon so that is (2). Could you direct me to your ribbon tutorial and maybe this old dog can learn a new trick

Here's a link to the ribbon/banner design thread although I don't use that method.
Campaign Ribbons and Banners
I tend to just fire up the graphics program (Paint Shop Pro in my case), create a 50x20 pixel image, then start altering pixels. I draw a rough image of what I want then attempt to refine it. I'm not an artist so I don't use techniques like anti-aliasing/dithering so my ribbons tend to look primitive instead of realistic.
I don't think the colors on my ribbon are optimal and the image could be worked on. Enough of a starting point for anyone who can improve on it.

@ Scott: welcome to the cobweb shop (Garys' rendition).
@ Gary: I still like your ribbon, but if any one would like to improve it go ahead then we get to vote on it.
Ya know, I have so many unfinished builds to choose from I think that I need to get my neice to choose for me.

Looks like I jumped the gun with all those other ones I finished!! But glad I provided the inspiration..
Never fear, I have a few more 'hulks' lurking in the 'room of hobbying' at Casa Inman that will be more than happy to see themselves finished for this campaign.
I have signed up already and can think of at least two models, no make that three models that need finishing.
Good luck to all! Thanks for starting up the campaign Bob.

Warren, glad to have you aboard. I need some Sherman info. that I seem not to be getting any help on the Sherman campaign. I have a Calliope build that I have been trying to finish but the rocket launcher will not stay in place, so I tossed it and need to find some data re: the camo for an M4A3 pic.

Bob,
I've enlisted but I don't know if the kit I plan on finishing qualifies? I have an unfinished 35th scale Tiger II that I started about 2 years ago. I had planned on posting it here on Armorama and was photographing my progress on the kit when I lost a bunch of pictures to a computer hard-drive failure. Disappointed I shelved the kit. As the kit sits it is already primed with a base coat and markings. The wheels, tracks and fenders have not been attached. The paint still needs to be aged and weathered. I sure would like to get this puppy done as the painting and weathering process is what takes me the longest. I could sure use the motivation . . . let me know?

@ Eddy: here are rules stated for the campaing, but your build sounds like it qualifies just post a pic on the start day of your project.
RULES:
1. If the project is half finished.
2. Photo of the half finished jewel.
3. In-progress photos a must.
4. If finished a photo of the paint job.
5. Documentation of what the wished change is to be.
6. Again in-progress photos a must.
7. Any acale, the submission form did state this.
8. And if you do not plan to enjoy yourself than do not come to the party.
It looks like I made a big BOO BOO, the previous post of mine with the photos of an M4 was suppose to be posted to the Sherman Campaign. I guess that is what you get for staying up too late and trying to read throught red eyes.

Warren, you spent money on it then you spent time on it, you have even cussed it, and some of us dreamt about it, so it is a jewel

Howdy Y'all:
I'm in! I wouldn't call this a jewel but here's my entry.
Tamiya M5 started and put back into the box about 5 years ago. If I was doing it all over I would've left the hedge hog cutter off. I was such a neophyte that I didn't know I had that option.
Merry Christmas Y'all:

My entry will also be Tamiya's 1/35 M5A1 Stuart.
It's mostly built and the O.D. has been airbrushed on. I still have to repaint some things as hand brushing Tamiya acrylics doesn't cover as well as I thought it would. Still not sure what to do about the tracks. I could use the crummy Tamiya tracks but I did start on assembling/painting the AFV Club tracks but those darn end connectors keep coming off plus a problem fitting around the return rollers. I suppose the latter doesn't matter if I put the sand shields on.
Failed to complete it in the "Get the Job Done - Again" campaign but I did make progress. Maybe this time I'll finish it!

Gary, it is so hard to choose which build that i should pick as my project even though I thought that I had. Glad to know that some you have no problem in doing so.

Hi all,
While painting my Stug for the Workhorse campaign I dusted off these shelf queens that will be my first entries for Getter Done. The Puma got as far as the first layer of a base coat, but the 234/1 is still in raw plastic...
The Puma will get a soft-edge 3-tone camo to match pics of "415", but I'm of two minds about the other one. I had planned yellow with a tight thin green "squiggle" scheme, but I just found some shots of one in three-tone hard-edged paint that looks interesting. However, that does mean brush-painting the camo...

Tom, nice looking (2) build starts but after reading your post I wonder how many unfinished projects everyone had on their shelves. I would be interested at the number.
My list:
Tamiya M3 Stuart (Pacific Campaign)
Airfix Bf 109F (109 Campaign)
Revell Spitfire Mk I ( cannot remember the campaign)
Revell P-51B/C (Mustang Campaign)
Monogram P-38 (Nightstalker Campaign)
Trumpeter Callenger II ( Operation Harrick? Campaign)
Bronco Hotchkiss H39 (Blitzkreig Campaign)
And a couple more that I cannot even remember which campaign that I started them for (T-80U, and a rocket launching t-26/60?)
So these are my sleepers what are yours?

Hmmmm... All these were started before I even heard of Armorama, in fact most were started before Armorama was even started!!
Hasegawa 1/72 Curtiss Seagull. Lost wing parts so it will never be finished.
Hasegawa 1/72 Grumman Panther 'Blue Angels'
ICM 1/72 SPB Zveno (Never will be finished as a few parts missing)
Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor (Decals)
Alan 1/35 Bison II (Just needs decals really)
Tamiya 1/35 Matilda II (Decals too old and never even loosened with water. Have to find some replacement ones for a desert tank pre-camo.)
Italaleri SWS with Flak 43 (Missing a small foot off the gun)
Zvezda 1/35 ISU-152
Tamiya 1/35 Schwimmwagen (Decals again. Originals too old and never even loosened with water)
Fujimi 1/72 Westland Sea King (Paint and decals)
Tamiya 1/35 Brummbar (Decals)
Airfix 1/600 Moskva Helicopter Carrier (Started 25 years ago and still sitting)
Revell 1/350 USS New Jersey Modernised (Painted the hull and deck. GOt to the first step of the instructions to assemble the turrets and they are so badly moulded I put it aside and bought the Tamiya one. I have the Eduard PE Set and RB Models Barrels for it so I had to get an alternative!)
Revell 1/72 HMCS Snowberry (Have assembled the hull and am awaiting enough funds to purchase the GLS PE Sets for it.)
Tamiya 1/12 Honda F-1 (Just a few tiny, fiddly things and it will be finished.Have been saying that for four years now.)
Tamiya 1/12 Lola T-70 (Worst fitting Tamiya kit ever I think. Needs paint and panel work)
Matchbox 1/72 Brewster Buffalo (Wings and fuselage together)
ICM 1/72 Polikarpov I-16 (One of the ones that came with the Zveno.)
Heller 1/125 Boeing 737. (Fuselage assembled and painted)
I know there are more but I think I would run out of space before I ran out of unfinished models!
