Sal: do I need a newspaper? Let me know and I can reshoot, as I know I won't build more for at least another week. The photo was taken 12-23-11.
No, Zon, That shot is good

Fred: Can I borrow your photos and email them around? That is just too good not to share!! F-104 is a favorite of mine and a few of my friends. I'll give you credit for the pics.
I briefly started but didn't get very far and probably won't get back to it until after the Holidays. Anway, this is my start shot.

Hay Zon go ahead and send them to whoever you want to.

Making some progress, almost finished with teh assembly of the locomotive, at least as far as I want to go before painting. Had to replace the main piston on one side with a brass rod and left off some piping on the underside where no one will see. I am liking this model.
I will be finishing it with a more wartime paint scheme, overall gray and black underside, no smoke deflectors, no fancy camo, just a basic working train.
The tender will be assembled next, then the Morser carrier.
The biggest downside to these kits are the track. Not the ties and rail itself, but the track bed itself. The ballast is way oversized, grossly out of scale. The rails, ties, and rail joiners are nice, but geeze, they did not ballast the rail bed with boulders! I will need to figure out some way to rectify this. Placing a decent model on the Hobby Boss track bed would be terrible.

Hey Scott, I had the same problem with the ballast on Trumps R/R bed. I don't know if the bed and ties are seperate on yours, but I didn't use the bed for mine. Just layed down some wood runners the length of the track and filled in with smaller ballast. Works out fine and more in scale.
Hey Ed, looks real fine, nice job so far.
Sal, camera's back and pics are being printed today. Will be sending them to Gary so he can scan them for me and get them posted for the campaign.
So far, it looks as if the campaign is full steam ahead except mine. Train's stuck in the freight yard with blown track and being interupted by a bunch of those peskey American grunts

hi out there
I Finally got some time to start building,
I got the rail bed finished , as you can see it needs a lot of filling and sanding to hide the joints , once i have finished sanding it i will spray it,
I completed the bottom of the train ???, you really have to pay attention to the
instructions and/or google build logs for this unit, as there are a few little issues that are not explained in the instructions
when I get around to doing the turret I have decided to use voyager resin/metal barrel replacement kit...
well off to try and get the top glued on...

Aloha All:
Some great builds going on here. Nice to see some trains.
I've managed some small progress on my Schwerer Plattformwagen Typ. SSy:
So far the build is very straight forward and rather simple. However, there are pretty noticeable mold-seams on all the parts for the two trucks which need a lot of cleaning.

hi chaps
happy new years to every one...
well a little bit more done, wow they did not make this model easy to put together, i don't think i ever have used so much filler on one kit.. hopefully i have not removed too much detail around the edges (i know i have lost some) but its either that or great gaps... also glued all the bits and bobs to the body and then onto the turret....

great work on everyone's entries for this campaign. some serious skills being employed.
i was wondering which model i was going to build and got the idea for a modern freight car. with a bit of research, borrowing parts from available kits and some pretty basic scratchbuilding i think i'm going to put together a modern russian box car.
i'd like to paint it all up to look out of service. just have to get some of the current projects finished but the ideas are starting to come together.
look forward to all the updates. cheers, bd

All,
Had a slight change of plans and have changed the build project to a Dn2t "Brigadelok" - still in 24th scale and 100% scratch. Have just finished the boring task of marking out all the main components and will start the cutting and gluing tomorrow.
Anywho this is the 1:1
and heres a couple of bits (main chassis) marked out ready for the knife,
Hope everyone's projects are going well

Thanks Gary and Sal. Will try latter this afternoon to get the pics up. My daughters computer is back and hopefully working right, so far so good, but you know how these things are. Not much of a computer professional so I'll probably have a heck of a time trying, never cut and pasted before, but I have to try sometime. Locos almost done so I'll try to get new pics of that also.

@ Rodger Nice photos and progress looking forward to seeing more
@ Bob hope it all works out for you looking forward to seeing your progress as well
Here is where I'm at. I thought the road bed that came with the kit was cheesey looking so I cut away the sides and will mount it on some Styrofoam
Anain this build is sucking up the Tamiya XF-60 and I added the 1st camo color
My A/B started to clog up so now it is soaking in cleaner I will hope to get the 2nd camo color on later today
The 38-T is being built for the Light Tank Campaign

I changed my mind on what I am going to do for the campaign. I was going to do a Panther Panzerjagerwagen. I will keep it for later in the year.
I’m going do a modified Kanonen und Flakwagen. The base kit comes from Trumpeter in 1/35 scale. I am changing the Quad 20mm Flak Gun with a single 37mm Flak 45 and I am replacing the Russian artillery piece with a 10.5-cm light F.H.18 M Cannon.
