Yeah, the Triebwagen 51 is the one I was looking at. I'd get it and join if it weren't for the other billion Campaigns I'm already obliged to.
But I will be watching, that doesn't take too much time. Or does it?

@ Scott, as long as you got that flat car with some rails under it it is fine
@ Dung outstanding build it really looks great, love the steel wheel, but My 1 question is in the 2nd photo on the insdie of that open panel did you leave pin marks or are they suppose to be there But overall a great build

Hello Group,
Splendid campaign you have here. I just rediscovered it.
I read that one of the members tried to enroll at Railroad Modeling but could not. Has anyone else tried lately? If there is still a problem with people getting in, I want to fix it.
@ Korpse: are any of your models Wespe kits?
Great campaign everyone!

I'm still trying to source some replacement wheels for my kit, I'm starting to get sick just by looking at them lol.
How does one achieve the bright silver metal for the contact area of the wheel such as Dung has achieved on his Leapold?

Dung: that looks great!! Can't wait to see more.
Jeremy: I can't help you with the wheels for your build, but as for replicating the rail wheels, I was planning to use Humbrol enamal metallic grey. Apparently, after it dries, you can buff it to shiny. Then I was going to add some graphite shavings from my lead pointer. Hopefully I will be able to get to this before the campaign ends
Happy Modeling, -zon

Hi Sal,
So far the kit seems well put together. There were no warped parts and little flash. There are several small delicate sub-assemblies but i think they look manageable. The resin conversion kits seems excellent, the instructions were minimal but I think that I got them figured out.
I am looking for some reference pictures if anyone has any leads I would appreciate the info.
Once again thank you guys for the support and welcome.

The beginnings of adding "salt." I'll remove a bit, for sure, and add more 'table salt' in areas. Never done this before, so...we shall see!
Salt on the far right is loose stuff....

Finished adding the salt (previous was only sea salt [large]). I went back and added more sea salt and table salt to the rest of the car.
Dunkle Gelb on:
I started the greenish camo and my AB plugged up...so it's getting a good soak. Once done, I'll finish the greenish and follow up with a red-brownish.

AB was unplugged!
Green and Red Brown on, salt removed:
Some areas look a little heavy and others a little light (camo paint). This'll get blended out.
This weekend, the rail wheels will get painted, it'll get coated with Lacquer, and washes will be done (blending).

Mike: The salt and paint job came out nice. I've never done the salt technique before. What's the method for removing the salt? Thanks.

Zon, once it was full dried and cured (couple days sitting there on the bench) I put the kit under warm water and using a soft tooth brush, I "scrubbed" the salt off. Some areas needed a little more "scrub," but it all came off with no problems. HTH!
I like this method...I'll use it again for sure.

Mike: Thanks!! Not too different from the hairspray method. I'll have to give it a try.
