Sounds great!

For the moment I am thinking of either a KV half drowned in a bog/marsh, or an RSO bogged down in heavy mud. I really wish Dragon would get on with it already and release an RSO-01...

Jeremy, I'm always learning around here. Based on your comment, I went digging on Google, and I see what you mean! The only RSO-01 now seems to have been retread about 6 times since the 1980's, although Dragon now has that RSO without the cab.
Gotta love those German names: Raupenschlepper Ost.
thanks,
Sean.

Number 2. I'm thinking a T-62 from the Yom Kippur conflict. No photos or specific ideas yet.

Hi folks,

That's me enlisted!

All I have to do now is dig the auld Tamiya T55 kit out of the dusty bowels of my stash and invest in a firecracker to build into the hull!

Later,

I'm thinking of another US Marine M4, but this time Ko'd by a mine. I've got some great pics of mine damaged tanks on Iwo Jima. This will make a good diorama, tank and crew dug in waiting for the recovery vehicle.

Darnit, now I need another M4A3 kit!

Hmmm, Wait, I have an M4A2 Late PTO in the stash. I'm thinking Pelelieu........

The names are pretty fun, and those little tractors are way cool. That old Peerless kit (reboxed many times) isn't the best thing out there.... Dragon is going to release the RSO-03 which is the wooden cab version. Not nearly as cool the steel cab one, but I'm willing to go with it if they ever release the darn thing

Numero 6 fellas

I can't believe we got this campaign up and running so quick!!! ..... fantastic...... I for one can't wait!

Jeremy....... The RSO is what I'd go for, and who knows what Dragon will do in 8months time?
Garry ......... Thanks again for sorting out the Campaign C[
Zon ............ A T-62 in the middle-east will be great!
Sal.............. Any ideas at all on what you might go with
Eoin............ T-55 = nice!
Wayne........ I will be good to see your Sherman in it's Pacific setting.

I going for a King Tiger I have in my stash, its the Dragon 'Battle of the Bulge' version I've no idea on what damage it'll get yet but boy is it's getting some |:
Mind you I do have my eye on one of those Dragon Sd.Kfz.7/2 3.7cm Flak 37

Enlisted a lowly number 9..... hehe! :

Here's my inspiration:

I hope the Academy M1151 does come out around $20 US, so I can build one knocked out like this for this campaign and also afford another one to build OOB.

it's an rgb jpeg so if you would like to use it just grab it from here. no hurt feelings if it's not used, just trying to lend a hand.

That's cool Bruce! I dig the retro comic book style

Duncan: RSO it is then

Sean: I like it! Half buried and half 3/4 dismantled, should be very interesting.

Just Enlisted, lots of time for me to perfect my plan! This summer I visited the tank museum at Saumur, France. That’s where I took this picture, if I recall the tank was repaired and re-used by the American forces. I plan to have it as a knocked out tank only (although it’s an interesting story).

Sean: what a great picture. Should be a fun build.

Bruce: nice ribbon. I also like the "pow" effect.

Vlad: Great story. Is that another entry wound just above the fender on the left side of the photo? Good hit if so.

Sean......... You certainly have the 'Hots' for Humvee's but that picture would make into a fantastic model.

Bruce.........Another ribbon =WOW! top stuff.

Jeremy......Have you seen the JP Models conversions cab and Ambulance body?

vladimir.....Good choice you don't see many late (really late) Jagdpanzer IV's... have you seen that Armour scale and MIG do burnt out Pnz IV wheels?

@ Zon: They hit it pretty hard, that is a hit above the fender also to the right of that fender.
@ Duncan: Thanks, do you know which company has this tank in its catalogue and which company produces an interior set for this tank?

happy to help with the ribbon guys and glad you like the retro comic book design. i was thinking tiny little boxing gloves but the idea of a "pow" explosion seemed like it captured the concept better.

cheers, bd.

Jeremy...... No link for JP Models, sorry but I found their stuff on ebay.... just pump-in... 'RSO 1/35' and you get a look see, but have you seen the Tamiya RSO ?

Vladimir......... Cyber Hobby do a JagdPanzer l/70 plus I think there maybe a resin conversion somewhere, CH probably best value. Regarding the interior ??? you could buy one of the Pz IV's that Trumpeter do with interior/engine etc... and transplant that into the CB L/70! =probably cheaper again. (plus you get another kit)!

Bruce ... ....We'll defiantly go with the 'Pow' factor one... well done

Thomas.....Welcome to the Campaign, can you tell us what you might end up doing?

I been doing a bit of research and Vladimir's post is really relevant........ its amazing how many Trumpeter kits do have engines/interiors but Dragon/Tamiya etc don't = food for thought!

Just checked it out and I have seen that one before, it's a cool looking conversion, but not quite appropriate for setting the mood of my proposed dio/vignette.

The Tamiya one looks like it's a rebox of the the old Peerless kit which is now owned by Italeri. I already have two of those and do not want another one, LOL.

What I would like to find if I do go with the RSO-01 is the engine conversion, which I think was produced by CMK, which gives you a new engine hatch and a partial engine. That would look great for setting the tone that the vehicle became severely bogged down and that the engine was heavily overheated while trying to get the vehicle out of the mire. If anyone knows where I can find this I would be most appriciative

ps: I dig the photo, great inspiratino for a knocked out KT, especially with the rugged looking production turret

It looks like it was Royal Models that made the update set I am thinking about. It also includes some usefull interior upgrades and other little pieces that would lend themselves well the the little dio.

Does anyone know of a good place to pick up Royal Models products in the US?

Duncan: great KT photo. It looks like the allies came by and circled the hits. Were you planning to model it that way?

Jeremy: I don't have a US supplier for Royal Model, but I was comtemplating ordering direct from them in Italy.

http://www.royalmodel.com/en/index.php?

I pulled my Tamiya T-62A out of my stash in storage today, so now I need to find a good knocked-out reference. I'm finding a bunch on T-55's in the Yom Kippur war, so I might use some artistic license and adapt.

Happy Modelling, -zon
