To maximise my chance of doing a good paint job I'vve built this simple stand this morning. With all the great build and paint jobs i see here, the pressure is certainly on
This jig will help me stay frosty!
I'm ``oscar mike`` to work now, got to pay for all those models after all
You all enjoy your day.

Hey Phil,
it helps alot to practice what your gonna do on your FP onto an empty milk jug or scrap piece of wood or the like so you kinda have the feel and hand motion for when you do your camo. and it will help you set a more comfortable air pressure for the type mixture you have prepaired. does that make sense? good luck Phil, i know you can do it!

Jeff S....Nope that's not my full time job.I can't even spell it Let it be noted though that I have been called a wise a*# from time to time.
Gary...The primer is Vallejo, base is Tamiya, stripes are Model Master, all acrylics.I'm using a Paasche Talon with a .38mm tip. This was my first time using MM,and to tell the truth I was a little disappointed. It was very thin out of the bottle and did not cover all that well.Hence the redo of the green I took the air cap off my AB,that seemed to make a difference in how fine a line I could get.Paint was thinned to almost a wash.Air pressure was about 7-10 lbs.I know it looks pretty good in the pics, but I am not that happy with it.You will see when I post more pics later that there is a lot of overspray and the lines are not that crisp.
I think an AB with a smaller fluid tip and needle would have worked better.
On a more positive note,I now know that a 1/35 camo paint job will be no problem. Jeff T.

Good god Gary! I wish I could adjust pressure!!! But there is no such device on my old badger compressor( I know I should have bought one ) But christmas came twice this year, maybe I'll have one before starting this show, infact, I'll buy one friday. As for the AB I'll have to cope with the badger 175. I'm happy when it spit's paint hehe. Not that bad actualy.
Thanks for the milk jug tip, now that you say it it seem obvious! Jeeezz the learning curve is steep, I love it.

Phil...I agree with Gary, an air regulator is a must.If you can find one and can afford it, you should get an inline air regulator/moisture filter combo. You will get much better results. We can get them down here for about 30.00-40.00 US.Jeff T.

Man There are some great builds going on here, just a small update from me, been studying for a promotional test on friday. I drilled out the exhaust pipes and cut off the 2 extra pipes that came in the kit, I think it turned out pretty close to the other one. And I decided to try and do some zimerit cause I know the Italy Panther A's had it, but i think it was just the square pattern. but i tried the trumpeter tool and didnt really like it. It doesnt look right to me. I used Squadron white putty, I heard that elmers Wood putty works good I might try that. And Im still trying to find an AM panther A barrel.

Eugene for what it is worth I also had a crack at the square pattern zimm and I used painters caulk (£1 for a tube which is enough for 20 tanks)I smoothed on a layer of the caulk and then used a ruler to add the pattern, I then roughly sanded any high spots which seemed to improve the overall look. I rushed mine a little but I am happy with the result. I should mention that I used humbrol maskol basically latex to mask any areas that needed to be kept clean.

Not me bud as Americas Army was the only place I caused any real chaos online as part of a very large clan.
The painters caulk does have a couple of properties which I like apart from the price which is that it gives you a very good working time and is easy to remove within a day maybe two depending on tempreture, and due to being a product for painters takes paint very very well of every type.
