Gee, sorry everyone if I killed this thread!
Today it's a month away from the start time and I'm still looking for an inexpensive Panther D kit to use. Anyone have any opinions on the ICM kits?

Thanks Tom and you're right, it does sound good! This will do nicely for the Coelian turret project.

I was planning to do a Panther G for my 2nd build for the Tamiya Campaign, but instead I'll do it for this one.
Tamyia kit nr 261 - Panther G w/eduard PE for Zimmerit coating.
I added the following extras:
Lion Roar Metal Barrel
Additional shrapnel covers from Aber
IR set from Dragon donated by my friend Michael Courter.

I look forward to seeing the work of all of you and if everyone who has expressed an interest manages to complete a build it should be a very good campaign.

Yeah, I'm really excited I finally get to use the Accurate Armor kit (which isn't cheap) that I've had for at least 4 or 5 years and why I bought it I don't remember now.

That's a BIG list there!
Depending on what the tracks look like once my kit gets here I may look into some aftermarket tracks. Definitely I'll look at the Bronco set you described for it will be the same part number.

Hey Jeff
I bought the bronco tracks because they are cheaper than fruiltracks. A friend of mine has used these and the look verry oke. The only thing is, that they are a bit fragile than fruil...

I'll keep an eye out for those tracks!
Well, I just received my Panther D kit today. It is a ICM Beobachtungspanzer Panther German Mobile Artillery kit and it's very detailed to say the least. I know some of it is the turret parts which I won't be using on this build but my question is this:
Since it is a prototype and only had a mocked up wooden turret, all pictures of this had NO TOOLS displayed on it at all. Should I build it as if it were a real combat tank or just like in the pictures ... plain Jane and all?
If so, I'll have to round up some decals too for it for the kits are lacking very badly and part of me is dying to add lib the schurzen skirts too.
Well?

Yeah, I guess that would be very boring.
I did find an ABER set of shrapnel covers ... for a G that should fit. Since it's an Anti-Aircraft fighting vehicle it should have some protection now that it has been pressed into service.
I'm going to replace the Coelians resin barrels with some brass stock I have and look out for some decent AM tracks that'll go together better than the kit has.
Oh, and decals too.

Panther Heads,
I have a question, does anyone know if these 'Drive Wheels' for the Panther were ever used as none of my references (Jantz & Doyle) mentions them. I have a set of these on the way for a hypothetical Panther F build for this campaign and am curious if these were ever produced?
Just a couple of more weeks to go before the glue and plastic meet!
Thanks,
~ Eddy

Gentlemen,I have made a choice as to what kit I will build. It will be Revell's 1/76th Jagdpanther. Why? because it's cheap,I have never done a 1/76th ,and it comes with a cool diarama base! I'm sure it is not the best kit in the world but it should be fun.I will be ordering it sometime in the future as I have one campaign to finish up.Jeff T.

Sure is Jeff are you all ready to tackle your builds? If any of you have any issues with picture storage please let me know as I may be able to help. Don't forget the builds have to follow the format of build features and so we need to see the steps you are taking.

Just as an example, I found this http://www.model-making.eu/zdjecia/7/5/7/1482_2_tam35203_7.jpg
from here http://www.model-making.eu/Tamiya-German-Tank-Destoyer-Jagdpanther-Late-Version-p-1-212598.html
It all depends on what year you want to represent. All I did was Google Jagdpanther color chart and found it.
At the same time I am building a Late Production Tamiya Panther G 1/16 RC that I started some time ago. I stopped on it to build a 1/16 RC Sherman M4A3 "Oddball tank" from the movie "Kellys Heroes. Now I need to finish it AND the Panther Campaign at the same time! LOL
