I have returned from a trip to Southern California, where the weather was colder than it was in NE Ohio! I decided to go back and paint the exterior of the M7 Priest black, as I simply missed too many seams with my coat of OD. I think it was worth the effort.

I then went back and resprayed the OD. I think it has a much better level of depth with the black underneath.
I have also gotten the tools and headlights mounted. The right side headlight guard was twisted like a pretzel in the box, but it probably got wacked a couple of times in WWII anyway.!

I have really been enjoying this build, and may force myself to do more OOTB!

John, I think what Eddy meant was that part B12 should be on top of part B32, where there is an indent for a part. I left mine as you can see in my photo where the directions say to put it and I never verified Eddys statement I like the way mine turned out and didn't think that it looked to out of place so I left it

@ Michael, the new paint it looking good you should be wrapping that 1 up soon

Well work continues, most of the upper hull together, minus fine detail, and adding more Zim.....

Hi Folks,

I have shelved the horses for the moment while I work out the details for the bits and reins, getting started with my Jagdpanzer IV instead. I am doing it totally OOB with no Zimmeritt or other bits, it is a nice kit and well engineered so it will look ok done this way. I want to do it in winter camo to try out the 'hairspray techinque' for weathering the winter whitewash.

Here are the build pictures so far...

The chassis with the back plate and running gear...

The back plate made up and ready to attach...

The back plate attached and running gear cleaned up...

All the running gear attached...

The superstructure and fenders attached...

The sprue with the engine deck and hatches...

The engine deck assembled...

All the tools cleaned up ready to attach...

Well that's it for now, I will post more as the build progresses.

All the best,

Paul

Got the other run of track finished and while I was at it glued up the suspension, did find that the directions show to put them on backwards and this wasn't mentioned in Neville Lord's review either, I was lucky to catch it.

Cheers Rob.

Just signed up for this campaign,as I finally finished my M51 Isherman for the Sands of Israel campaign. Looking forward to this build, and being an active member in this campaign. These days it seems that I basically build only DML kits, and nearly all of them are OOB for home display.

Here's the picture of the kit ready for the build

Thanks,

Joel

This is the beginnings of DML #6301 Vorpanzer IV.If any kit could be built OOB,it is this one.Comes with over 1000 parts.including PE and metal barrel + Magic Tracks.Anyway so far construction has been over-engineered,but well fitting and moving along.

Michael, your M7 Priest is coming along nicely. I built a OOB M7 Priest late last year, and it's a great kit right out of the box.

A little more progress on my StuG IIIG. It is getting closer to the finish line. The tracks needs to go on and then some weathering can begin. This will be a pre-invasion Normandy panzer so I will keep the weathering light.

More to follow

There are some nice builds happening here.
I would like to do this campaign. I have a Shanghai Dragon PZIVJ. I'm assuming this is a Dragon model, right?

Hey all.

Lots of fine work showing here. I haven't forsaken my early Chi Ha, just been a tad busy with a few other things. Someone asked in my blog about the build to show a picture with a coin next to the Type 97 for size so I thought that I'd share that with this group for a diversion.

I'm sure that I don't need to describe the other two tanks in the pictures except to say that they are 1/72 Dragon offerings.

As for the Chi Ha, I am starting some serious touch ups and started some detail painting where feasible. The yellow disruptive stripe is applied but I also need to get rid of some of the feathered edges. I recently learned that the Japanese applied all their camo, even in the factory, by hand so all colour separations need a hard edge.

Cheers,
Jan

Nice choice of kit, Lap man. Looking forward to follow your build.

All the details and the tracks are now finished on my StuG III. The weathering is next.

Well, here it is.

I bought this kit in the late 90's. I started messing with it last year or the year before,i don't remember.
I had the wheels built, suspension and was messing with the track links. But it was hard to stay motivated.
Now , being unemployed at the moment, i figure i'll try it again.
