I am getting ready to start my build for this campaign. An Afghan T-55. I have not decided on markings yet, but something from the Bison decal sheet on afghan tanks.
I am using the old Lindberg kit. I have never build it before, but seems to require some extra details. Suggestions on what details can be added are welcome.

Ooo, a Lindberg T-55! Thought those would all be recycled/in a landfill by now! Kudos for building it.
@Cagkan: you mean HobbyBotch screwed up the torsion bar spacing on the CV-90 too? Hadn't heard that yet, good to know.

Yeah, you are right, Jim. An old kit with a general lack of details. I got it for free in connection with an ebay purchase. I guess the previous owner got tired of looking at it.
I have added some extra tie downs, bolts, gun mantle cover, and IR projector. It is a fun build so far and everything more or less lines up.

Jesper: Lindberg are great kits to super detail. I find myself enjoying some of the older Italeri kits just for this reason. The build looks solid.

Jesper,
That looks better than my Lindberg T-80.
Cheers Rob.

Hey,
I finally got the steering figured out
So now my Lav will have poseable steering. the only deviation from scale is the struts are a little bigger diameter.
Cheers Rob.

I've seen people perform surgery on a LAV or Stryker to have the wheels turned, but first time I've seen them movable...very cool Rob. Now, you just need to have them attached to the turret so that when you turn the turret by hand the wheels will turn! How's that for a challange? ;-)

Thanks for the comments on my Lindberg T-55. I appreciate it.
Here is where the build stands right now. More to follow.

Jesper: Nice job with that old Lindberg!
Rob: Looking good. Dig the poseable steering.
I have to post some pictures of my kit. I've been slacking.

Nice progress, John. Looking forward to see more on the kit.
I have now finished my T-55. It is the old Lindberg kit with Bison decals. The Lindberg leaves a lot to be desired, but especially the tracks are really bad and stiff. Difficult to make to fit the drive sprockets and get the right sag.
Comments welcome

NOTICE: I have requested that the deadline be pushed back to Feb. 1st, due to me being out of town and unable to post photos I hope this will allow all of you unable to meet the initial deadline to have another month.

Nice pick-up John. What you putting in the back?
Posted: Tuesday, December 18, 2012 - 02:09 AM UTC
Thanks for the comment, John. Considering the starting point was a Lindberg T-55 older than me - and I am not young anymore - I am also pretty satisfied with the result.
Your pickup is coming along nicely. Looking forward to see it weaponized
