Right, I've had a bit of an accident today. My car ended up up-side-down in a field. I'm fine but I'll be dropping all campaigns. I'll also need to find someone to take over my 'Replacement!' campaign.

I'll still pop in on a couple campaigns but as far as I know right now I haven't got money to be spending on plastic tanks.

That is a great looking Sherman III you have going there. The paint job is really nice with the weathering you have going on with it. And as far as your dilema with the working suspension riding up at the ends, you could either remove the tracks and either use cyano glue or epoxy from the backside to set it down where it belongs. Unfortunately there is an easier fix for this common problem with the Tasca Shermans, but it needs to be done during the construction. It involves simply replacing the little foam rubber blocks with equal sized bits of solid styrene (or anything really) cut to size and glued inplace of the foam blocks to keep the suspension from flexing when the tracks are put on.

I've started my Cromwell Mk IV, it will be outfitted with wading trunks from the 7th armoured division when they came ashore on June the 7th. the tanks name is "satan's chariot" 5th RTR, 7th armoured division D Day +1.

Given the time period left I think I might just be able to do the Churchill AVRE Mk III with deep wading and a fascine. I'll see how I get on.

Hi Alan according to Wikapedia so bare with me the 79th armoured division used the Crocodile together with the Churchill AVRE as combined units of attack on the bunkers used to protect the beaches along with other Funnies used to aid the clearing of beaches within the first few days of the landings starting. Please if anybody has other information to correct this feel free to let me know but this is what info I came up with so far. All the best for the New Year to everyone

I had a look in the Funnies by GW Fuller and it doesn't mention their use on D Day rather that 141st Regt Royal Armoured Corps (The Buffs) were the first Crocodile Unit to come under Command of 79th Amroured Division and joined the Division in October 1944 after the landings.

I am not sure if they were actually deployed on D Day, I remember this came up a while ago but I can't remember what the outcome was.

I'll see if I can dig up any other data.

Here is my finished Tasca Sherman III, built as a tank from the Canadian 1st Hussars.






I'm pretty happy with it. I just picked up the AK Interactive "Dust" weathering magazine and think I overdid it with the pigments on the horozontal surfaces. I think I may try to remove some.

I'm also building a small diorama to place it in. It's a miniart vacuform building. I'm currently building a roof for it out of wood. I need to clutter it up a lot more and find a figure(s) that suits it a bit better.




Been a blast of a campaign. Keep up the great work all around.

Great looking Sherman Jeff. The building will look good with a bit of debris around it.

Just finished washing the parts for my Centaur in warm water and dishwashing detergent. Gathering together all the other bits and pieces, paints etc and should have a start this afternoon.

Looks really good Jeff. Looking forward to seeing the figures and debris as it's sort of plain right now.

Fellas, thinking about enlisting, I am pretty new to this site, but I've been posting on the Sherman only campaign. Always a good excuse to build another Sherman. Anyway here is the photo I want to replicate. She belonged to 2nd AD so must've landed on the 9th of June. I have the Tasca mid production which even has the markings for this tank. I want to build her like she looks in the photo which most certainly was taken after the 9nth. I read the rules and I believe that would be within campaign parameters. I'm really getting into wrecks, this one is not really a wreck, but the no track look appeals to me. Would I have to build her the way she came of the LST or would this look be okay? I'm game either way, but prefer the repair yard look.
