Phil, Thomas, et al Thanks for the positive feedback. I am really hoping to get the rest of the dio done before the campaign end. I finally got the base yesterday.
Alex, #3 for me also. I like the larger skulls and the numerical 2 rather than the Roman numerals
I tried again to upload a picture to the gallery, but it still won't let me. Still not sure how I am going to do this.

I tried a winter scheme and an all-over dark green, and wasn't feeling either. So on my third or fourth re-paint, I tried out a USA 4-tone scheme. I'm not too thrilled about this either, there's overspray that I was having a hard time touching up. I might just go will all-over Panzer Grey.

Hi Graeme,
well - I like your color scheme.
OK, wheels and the jerry cans need some rework, but overall it looks good without weathering.
I don't know what you don't like about it...
Cheers

Unless anyone has any objections, I'll declare Ribbon #3 the winner. So here it is in all of its properly sized, giffiness.

Alex ,,, For lack of a better word ,,perfect is the only word to describe the ribbon ...well done man ,,thats prefect and i think for EOD3 that will work perfectly too .
Graeme..That machine is looking pretty damn good so far ,,as Thomas said once the weathering takes its part then this will look superb..
John ,, Mate would you do me a possible favor..if i aint around on the 22nd could you please hand out the ribbons ..this is a just in case sort of thing ,,covering my bases so to speck .

Thanks fellas, I managed to tighten up the camouflage a bit today. A bit of detail painting, some decals for the ordnance, and of course some extinction-level-event weathering.

For my first attempt at model building in many decades this has been a great experience despite the fact that I did not come close to finishing my project even with the one month extension. If you would indulge me, I will share a few of my observations.
1. I do a pretty good job at conceptualizing but not so much at implementing.
2. Super detailing is much more than the stretching of sprue over a candle for aircraft radio antennae that I did as a kid.
3. If I think something will take a day to complete, allow at least a week.
4. Join a campaign at the very beginning and never think there is plenty of time.
5. Appreciate the effort and work hosts put in to get these things going and keep them on track.
The fact that I did not finish on time and get a ribbon is inconsequential since I spent many relaxing hours (and a few tense ones) working on it. I rediscovered a long lost hobby and found some talented kindred spirits I can learn from. I will continue until it is finished and post photos to the gallery. I am definitely in if there is an End of Days 3. Thanks again for sharing some great creations and taking the time to offer comments and assistance.

Thanks for the campaign Phil, it was a lot of fun. I learned a lot about making this hobby a craft. Inspiration galore! So the truck is done and in the gallery.
As I said before as I get the rest of the dio finished I'll post the pictures here.
By the way, anytime you want to do EOD 3, count me in already

Frank, stick with it and still post: we'd love to see how it comes out. The campaign may be over but the thread will still be here....
Phil: thanks for another great campaign. Sorry you couldn't participate as much as you'd hoped....but we'll see you here for the next one I'm sure.

Frank i couldnt have said that better myself ,,funny how when you think its easy and then you get another idea and then another and then ,,oh momma!! ,,oh and there is most definitely going to be a EOD3 matey cause the machine i was going to build must be built,,oh and another thing i have noticed too ..i am lovin how you guys who didnt get to finish your builds are going to finish and post your pics here ,,thats a seriously wicked thing and makes this campaign as good as it was ..not like i did jack s#&t
Bruce ,, Your welcome mate ..only to happy to get these campaigns running ..i am looking forward to number 3
Sean me ol Irish mate ,,glad you had fun again i always look forward to the things you come up with but be warned matey ..EOD3 is gonna be even bigger than 2 and why you ask ?? what i will be building is gonna make my last EOD machine looks small and weak and pathetic by comparison ..trust me
Alex will be happy about this as he asked what i was building and he never got to see it ,,thats gonna change .
Its been fun watching your builds and makin me jealous as hell too

Hi Folks,
same from my side:
A big thank you for this campaign - it got me motivated to start something BIG.
I really had fun reading the discussions about all these crazy ideas and see the outcome.
If there will be an EOD3 I will definetely join again.
Cheers
Thomas

Thanks for the campaign Phill.
I do enjoy these style campaigns. They allow you to have fun with a build and cut loose with your imagination. The idea swapping is half the fun. I actually learned a lot from this campaign and saw some really nice work.
I think campaigns like this are easy to plan an idea, but the problem comes in in executing them. You'll always have a degree of fall-off, no matter the campaign type. Maybe for EOD 3 we can allow unfinished kits from 1 and 2 to join. There were some nice looking vehicles in both of those that never were done.
Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to EOD 3. I've got my big rig sitting atop the stash. I plan on using my time more wisely.
