Hi Guys.

I havn't started my Jeep yet but thought I'd share a couple of links for reference.

TM 9-803 1/4 Ton 4x4 Truck, Willys Overland Model MB and Ford Model GPW

TM_9-1803A Engine Repair Manaul for Willys MB and Ford GPW

TM 9-1803B Power Train, Body, and Frame for Willys MB and Ford GPW 1944

These are .pdf files of the WWII era manuals and contain B&W photos (not very good ones), but also lots of Technical drawings (these are good) and diagrams covering the Jeep.

1943 Ford GPW "Jeep" Walkaround

1944 Willys MB "Jeep" Walkaround

1942 Willys MB "Jeep" Walkaround

I also have a couple hundred other photos of various types of restored jeeps that I have yet to get around to edit and post, radio jeeps, ambulance jeep, follow me jeep, so if your looking for something specific just let me know.

(btw they are on my website, but I thought I'd post anyways as the links are related to the subject.. )

Awesome walkarounds Delbert. I especially like the photos of the cable laying setup on the one jeep. I made some cable reels a few years ago but abandoned the project as I couldn't find any good reference photos of the mounts or configuration. If you don't mind, I'd like to grab some of these photos in case I decide to revive the "communications Jeep" conversion at a later date.

Love the other photos too. Would love to see the ambulance Jeep photos someday when you get them all sorted out. Same for the radio Jeep as this is a conversion that I am sure many have attempted and will try again. (And honestly, the Follow Me Jeep is just plain cool). Just goes to show what an amazing piece of equipment the Jeep really was.

Hey Jim

Take what you want, thats what they are there for. I'm going to try to get some of the other jeep photos edited and on the site soon because of this campaign. I just wish there had been some LRDG jeeps at the WWII weekend.. lol.

btw my original photos are fairly large so if anyones needs more detail or a closeup let me know. :>

Nice job, Alex. And record time too!

I was able to get some time in this weekend. I forgot how easily the Tamiya Willys goes together.

Hi Jeff.

I don't know if I'm the troll you says, but I would remember you that I sended you a private message about the possibility to offer my products to the members campaign, and you suggest me to post n Jeep Campaign thread.

I don't want to create controversy, just make clear my action.

Best

AND, to let everyone know what your ORIGINAL PM was:

Sent: OCT 08, 2012 - 10:08 AM

"Hi Jeff,

I'm Jordi Orengo, owner of "Minor", a PE manufacturer from Barcelona.

I would offer a 15% off to all Jeep Campaign participants for our Jeep related sets (must buy at minor-web.com).

I don't know if it is possible."

Best regards

Jordi Orengo

I don't see you even divulging or mentioning any discount at all in your prior post (and why you waited over a month) but YOU must have forgotten. I have ran this across with Gary the Campaign Director. You had your 15 minutes, now please join the JEEP Campaign effort and show us that you can build or please quit interrupting this group.

Thank you.

I "forgot" to mention the discount because I received some orders from my dealers for Jeep sets just after the message you put, and I thought would be a problem.

I put my post a month later because I was very busy this time.

Anyway I can do a discount depending the order amount for Jeep Campaign participants. Not worth to be angry.

Again, quit trying to make ME out to be the bad guy and put words in my mouth. I am not angry just disappointed the way you're acting. This is a Build Campaign, not a free advertising area. Manufacturers PAY to advertise on this forum, and in the correct place too.

Members take notice. He's too busy to offer his discounts... maybe too busy to send out products too.

Now, let's get back to the builds. Too bad I'm not a moderator.

Hello;

if there is not any problem for nobody, I would be glad to join you for this jeep campaign.
The 6 months dead line will allow me to found few hours to do something.
I am not yet really sure of the model (Tam or italeri); need to check what I have in the storage, and will wait to get the 1/35 dragon jeep to compare and start.

So I hope to post (not soon sorry) the begining of my work, as there is at least 10 years I didn't build any.
Hope to not be too rusty

cheers Alex

Hi Sean,

yes 10 years it is a long time .
But during these years I was working on the 1/1 scale model.
I bet that the weight of the part won't be the same.

And yes I am enlisted on the campaign

Okay, a little progress.

It's building up like a JEEP.

And even starting to smell like a JEEP too!

The suspension shock combination was easy and I cut off the locating pins on the spring shackles that go into the frame as it put the whole assembly into a bind. Thanks gawd for liquid cement!!

I don't know why companies continue to make incomplete parts like the muffler. Sure, it's hidden when it's all said and done, but... right now it just looks cheap as I almost filled it in but wanted to push on.

I think the next few steps it will start looking like a JEEP for sure!

@ Alex Zelyk: nice for an hours work, so you also drink rocket fuel instead of coffee yes?
How long will the paint job take, 2 hours

@ Michael: nice and easy does it, that´s the way I like to see a build.

@ Steph: nice one, looks great but where are the Vickers K´s
Ishould of made that trip then I´d of had ´em.
Now do a second, a bit slower this time so we coffee
drinkers can keep up.

@ Jeff: looking cool dude. Just what scale is that, I seem to have lost it a bit.

Well here´s my progress:
Body and chassis together

50 Cal. mount

50 Cal. ammo box and sun compass

Condensor mount

the start of the twin Vickers K mount

and thank the almighty that Photobucket is working again!

hello,
PAUL, nice progress, I am your progress with interest.
I'll get my vickers K GUN on a jeep SAS. I noticed that the jeeps LRGD were lightly armed.
Fast?
It is necessary that I stop my product doping (bordeaux)
