Wow! Beautiful build on the falcon, Neil. Looks outstanding. You should enter for model of the month.
I have a little more progress on my butcher bird. The decals are now on. Very difficult because these old monogram kits have small rivets all over the aircraft. The rivets captures air underneath the decal making it very difficult to get the decal setting smoothly.
More to follow

I have now finished my Fw 190A. I build it as a Butcher Bird from 11./JG1 flown by Lt. Rudiger Kirchmayr during the Summer of 1942.
It is the old 1/48 Monogram kit. It goes together decently, but has some fit problems around the cockpit and the level of details is showing its age.
The decals in the kit are of great camouflage schemes, but unfortunently out of register. For my kit I used Eaglestrike decals.
Comments welcome
Here it is with night fighter wingman

Thanks for the comment, Greg. Appreciate it.
It was a cool and fun build, but I think I will get back to a better fitting and more detailed kit. My next Fw 190 will probably be the Eduard kit.

I finished a Jagdpanther for this campaign already as a side-track distraction from this Stalingrad dio which was my original intent. I'm painting details still, but not much model time lately. Painting the house now too.

hi Greg the factory just keeps lookin better and better, really like the added girders and ducts and the bricks look great.
a thought would be some more rubble in the form of bricks and lumber as materials flew a long way during bombing, but that's just a suggestion it's your baby and she's lookin great! and a guy has to draw a line somewhere.
happy modeling
chris

That is a very impressive diorama. If I may offer a bit of critique though, the roof beams sitting on top of the steel columns are oriented 90 degrees the wrong direction (meaning when looking along the length of the beam it should look like the letter I not the letter H). Not something that many would notice, but as a structural eng guy it bothered me a little.
Carry on.
Carry on.

Chris I did forget to add some bricks I have. Easy fix and some wood sounds good too thanks a lot buddy for your continued ideas and support. I made a pile of oil drums last night.
Van. I want to fix it but I had such a hard time getting the glue to stick those pieces together I can't do it not without risking disaster. I swear i'll do it right on the next one and try to photograph it so its not too noticeable :-)
Tom. I like the Tiger progress

Made a little more progress...
...putty and primered the rocket, added a base color to the stand/deflector base. Now, while it dries I need to come up with a paint scheme.
Starting to look like something now!

Re: Staliingrad Factory. Greg, if you are like me, then you will probably want to add to your diorama every once in a while just to keep things looking fresh. There are lots of factory components produced for model train settings that would make great additions to your diorama. Are the figures fixed in place because I would like to see how it looks if the flamethrower operator was placed just behind the man with his right arm extended in a stopping motion? I think that might add drama to it.

the v-2's looking good Jeff.
you have a template for a checker pattern right on your desk if you go that route.
look forward to what you come up with.

Almost there now. I added some bricks and got some detail painting done. Waiting for the magic dirt to harden up so I can put the final paint and pigments on it. I've had to replace those little resin rifles too many times to count.
Jeff - the Rocket looks quite good now. Good job fixing those seams
Marlowe - I tried the flamethrower behind before but I think I like him out front ready to BBQ.
Chris - The dio looks about ready. Elephants are fun. I've always wanted to do a tank sticking out of a destroyed building since seeing old photos and the movie The Big Red One. Look forward to seeing how you do that one

Greg i think the brick was a good way to go,coupled with the steel wreckage and base debris it is looking very war zone.
did you get your house painted?

I got 3 sides done on the house and now it rained. I get side tracked a lot and it's not just with the models haha.
