Sal----The Grant really looks good.
Pedro----Yes, I did adjust the length of the gun. I saw the adjustment in your thread so I followed suit because you seem to know your Shermans!
Best wishes,
Ian

Well this has been fun, I have seen a lot of great looking builds, and looking to see more as this one closes out. For me, he is my completed build, Churchill Mk.III, Ontario Regiment, HQ Troop.
I will get the final images taken and thrown up on the gallery.

Yes, a little from the images I have seen of the tanks in training, they took a bit of a beating, mostly mud. Most images show the tanks caked in mud from the Salisbury Plains where they trained.

Wow guys! Another fabulous Churchill Kevin that looks super nice, I've always liked the way Churchills look with their upper track run exposed, it's a throwback to the WWI tank days for sure,it just looks cool.

LOL, you made me LMAO this morning!!! "Unexpected kitchen remodel"? Too funny, bet it wasnt unexpected to the old lady. I laughed because I've been putting ours off for a couple of years and the ole lady is getting pissed. All of a sudden she's breaking off cabinet doors and flushing rice down the drain Maybe something similar happened to you😁

This is my progress so far. I attached all the stowage from Legend and primed it. I made the front chain using fuse wire and attached it directly to the hooks. I misplaced the kit shackles.
I then airbrushed various tones of olive drab. It was the first time I have attempted the modulation style of painting.
I then sprayed gloss, attached the decals and blocked out the basic colours of the stowage.
Now for some advice. I have tried searching on the web however there were so many different pictures. What colour would the fuel/oil cans (small and large) be painted in WW2 circa 1944
and these boxes at the rear
Thanks in advance

Forgot to mention that I made a mistake on the 50 cal and attached the ammunition can upside down, I don't know what I was thinking when I did this. So if anyone noticed this I have fixed it now

finally got a small block of uninterrupted build time. here is a small update on the Firefly. I need to clean some stuff up but otherwise she is almost ready for primer and paint. Please let me know if there is a glaring omission somewhere. Oh, before I forget, there are a couple more small glitches with the DML kit. The gun sight that sits on the front of the turret is molded backwards, I didn't even realize it until I saw some more pictures of this item while looking for other details. It was a simple fix as all I had to do was splice it down the middle and rotate the top portion so that the taller appendage would be close to the commanders copula. Pics:

Very nice work Pedro, can't wait to see her painted. I too ran across the sights glitch when I built my firefly at the start of this year and I think I doscovered the reason too.
There is one particular firefly in a museum somewhere which has the site on backwards. This one:
Maybe dragon were unlucky in that they based their turret detailing on this restored vehicle.
Cheers

Tristan,
You're right, that's probably what happened with DMLs research, it makes sense. It's really not a big deal if you catch it in time and get it turned around. How is the bishop coming along? Can you post a pic or a link of your firefly?

Colin,
The more the merrier. Between you, Ian, and myself, there are now 3 fireflies going on at the same time and all three types produced, VC, IC Hybrid, and IC rolled plate. Can't have too many Fireflies IMHO. BTW, you're really doing amazing things with that 20 year old kit.
If you don't mind me asking, what AM photo etch kit are you using and what type of bending tool do you use?

The bishop is slowly getting there, truth be told I got frustrated with the very high parts count at one point at put it to the side for a while. Cleared my mind by quickly slapping together a couple tamiya/trumpeter kits and now i'm almost done with the Bishops build phase. Here are the parts layed out:
And here is my Firefly. It was the first model I ever built (yes I'm a modelling baby):

Wow, for a first model that is very impressive. I love the color, what paint did you use?
The bishop looks so clean, very impressive! You are diving into advanced skills kit with that one. Talk about a quick learner
