Hm. No interest. I thought that this would've created at least a little stir.

I think so big things like this will be to expensive to buy on shapeways so maybe because of that there is no interest?

I don't know if that's why but it will, unfortunately be expensive. I have to package the small parts inside the engine cover and put that inside the superstructure. The mantlet and gun have to be a separate model if they are to be printed in FXD. The mantlet is actually designed hollow to hopefully cut a bit of cost.

Well, in the meantime, keep those ideas rolling in. Are there any cross-sectional turret plans out there like there are for boats? Any gun barrels that you want to see rendered (that can actually be printed that is).

After many hours and many renditions, the nose is finished! My sincere thanks to Tom Cromwell AKA Barkingdigger who graciously designed the actual replacement M48 nose (all I did was design the well that the mantlet sits in and adjust the nose model accordingly) that is a key piece to this set. I'll also be releasing more detail renders soon.

Hello. I think the APU (generator) for the M1068 (updated version of the M577), would be great for a 3d print project. No one seems to make the APU or any type of conversion kit for the M1068.

I'll look into it. But since there are no kits of a M1068 out there, I don't think it would sell much.

I also calculated the total price of the T110E4 conversion and it comes out to over $315. I think I'll try to buy the set as I can and start simply resin casting it to sell it. Needless to say, that would cost MUCH less. But I would need a minimum number of definite buyers if I was to do this. No commitment, no money exchanging hands. Just a yes or no if anyone would be interested enough in this set to purchase it as a (cheaper than 3D printed) resin conversion set. I think the small parts (hatches, sights and ventilator [the modeled ventilator is exchangeable with the DML M48A1 ventilator - I modeled it after that one]) and gun barrel/blast deflector would remain as 3D printed. Because I am only 1 person (with more important commitments to school currently), limited run would be a definite. Anyone have any thoughts about this?

I think the M1068A3 generator would sell pretty well. It is simply an updated and renamed M577A2. The old Tamiya M577 can easily be converted into one using an M113A2 engine deck, the new generator, and a few other power boxes that can easily be scratched. Since these are used by just about every heavy unit in the Army, there should be enough of a demand to warrant making it. I would get at least one to build a modern M1068A3 FDC track.

On a specific one. I built the Tamiya LRDG Chevrolet with the Breda in the back. From what I remember there was only one ammo box supplied and nobody makes them in resin or any other format. Obviously one thing that sticks out with LRDG vehicles is the amount of stowage so I think they'd carry considerably more than one box lol. Breda ammo belts would also be good and with them being quite substantial rounds I wouldn't have thought that they'd be too thin.

Sure. The ammo boxes would be easy. Could you send a picture of the kit box with length, width and height? And do you know the length of a clip from the Breda 35?

I've already made a commitment to myself to purchase a set of the T110E4 conversion and cast at least 2. 1 will go to Kitmaker. I would plan on a price of $75-100 per cast set. I will attempt to make 10. Would anyone be interested in the T110E4 conversion set to be sold as a cast resin set?

I'd buy a conversion set that had all that's needed to build an M1068. It'd go great with an M270 MLRS.

I've started the APU. I'll see if I could do the engine deck as well. I'm also going to get a start on a couple useful items as well. Namely tool boxes and brush holders.

Hi! How about coke and other soft drink bottles? Both plastic and glass size, whiskey bottles and soda cans? I know there are some on the market, but symmetry and proportions are never perfect, the distinct coke bottle shape screams for a proper 3D print. Also, i don't think the rims and opener on a soda cans on any current offering is as good as it could be. It would be asy to design and print, modern accessories are always in need.

Sure, I can work some bottles.

I've also started on a model of the WOT T110E4. The T110E4 that I already made is based somewhat on the WOT T110E4 but it was actually the Buick T110 design 4 in real life. The T110E4 I'm working on now never existed in blueprints or drawings. It is a complete fabrication from WOT but is turreted so hopefully might cost a bit less. It still requires a turret, gun/mantlet, engine deck cover and small parts. And a base kit of the M48A1 by Dragon, of course. Stay tuned for more.

I'd like to see some rear bumpers for the GMC CCKW. Don't want to deal with those ridiculous Hobby Boss PE offerings.

I can take a look. They should be doable if I can find a length and height.

I've been contemplating starting a crowdfunding campaign to try to raise some money to be able to purchase a SLA 3D printer. While I won't stop uploading to Shapeways and using that as my shop, if I am able to get this printer, I would be able to print larger items at a lower cost and (finally) make prototypes that won't cost me an arm and a leg! I'm looking at mostly the Ilios Photon for this (that's assuming I can even raise enough money to get the printer let alone the resin). In the meantime we'll sadly just have to suffer with the high prices of Shapeways.

I've started the M1068 APU. I have the basic shape. It's adding the details that will take a while

The soda bottles are pretty much done. Just need to wait for my computer to finish a pattern function and create a base and they'll be finish. 100 in a set.

Would anyone like to see tank or model company themed rings? I made a design and could put anything on to it.

I for one would love to have a 3d printable kit(s) for eastern block civilian cars, have a project idea for which I'd like to use a 1/35 car like a Lada or similar, but can't find any kits for. Was thinking of maybe trying to source a 3d model and print one.

Any chance of printing a couple of 1/35 Jerry Can racks for the front (left & right) fenders of a WWII Kfz.12/15 Horch? I can provide some reference images.

I wouldn't be able to make the kit. Plus I'm not sure how feasible it is to have it as a kit through Shapeways.

I can check it out. I can't find any pictures of what you need though.
