Mike,
Pro Arts was the only one who did the control unit for the DUKE system, but he has shut his doors. So a DUKE control unit along with it's remote control box would be great for all these US Modern vehicles. They also had the CPU for the BFT, but I beleive Voyager, E.T. Models and another after market carries the CPU with their BFT sets. But they are not correct. The BFT is the screen, keyboard, transceiver, PLGR anttena(which there are 2 types), and the CPU. Some forget the keyboard, some give you the older type of PLGR.

The MENG Bradley's need SINCGARS and VIC systems in them, you have the VIC system covered. All the MRAP kits need good COMMS in them from the radios to the anti-IED systems, to headsets. Same goes with the Hummer kits.

I have the starts of the SINCGARS down. The RT-1523A-E models are finished. There are no PE sets available separately for the mounts/amplifiers so I need to model them as well. I would like to do the CPU of the BFT and whatever else would be needed as an upgrade along with the DUKE control units.

I wish I could help you with the deminsions for the 2 systems. Al i can do is let you know what goes in the vehicle for the FBCB2(BFT) since I installed several of them towards the end of my military career. Gino(Heavyarty) or Brent(sgtsauer) could probably help with that since they are still in the Army.

Here is the complete DUKE system:

FBCB2(BFT) screen, CPU, key board, and hard drive

BFT with older style PLGR:

If you could take the measurements of the unit, it'd be great. I could make any needed modifications or additions and whatnot based on photographs.

Individual links with individual end connectors model is complete and is being uploaded to Shapeways. It has 1 less sprue than the Pinned model so it is shorter and should be slightly less expensive. But it is still up there. I am about to start work on a project that I've wanted to do for a while. More info to come at a later date.

Needless to say (and sorry to say) but with the demise of Pro Arts it would be the perfect time to perfect your mini-kit of SINCGARS radios.

May I ask the current status of these? Last comment I recall said Shapeways was reporting some printing problems which you had at least partly addressed.

I had a few printing problems, yes. One of them was the AN/VIC-3 basic set. With 1 set of FFCS, MCS, Speakers, etc. I had made an edit to it for whatever reason and re-uploaded it. Because it was a new file it had to be manually processed again. The techs saw something they didn't like and flagged it as unprintable. Because the full set is already up, I'm not taking the time needed to try to edit the area as it just isn't worth it. I took the basic model off as it couldn't be purchased. If anyone needs a spare of a part, I'll be happy to provide it as a separate model that can be purchased.

About the SINCGARS, they are still in the works but on the backburner. Unfortunately I don't have enough info to work the amplifiers/mounts. The radios themselves are completely finished. But because there are no separately available empty mounts, I also need to model them... Which is where the status is. Trying to get measurements from the Bronco part is tougher than it seems for whatever reason.

Thanks for the update. I'm a future customer whenever those are ready.

I am looking to add the radio to my acturized Italeri HEMTT over at:

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/250147

I should finish the truck this coming week but the radio, like the scratch built winch can be added later on down the line.

The measurements of pro art models duke control unit are:
Primary
Length : 11,5 millimeter
Width: 7 millimeter
Height: 7,5 millimeter

Secondary:
Lenght: 11,5 millimeter
Widht: 5 millimeter
Height: 7- 7,5 millimeter ( difficult to get exact measurement)

Smallest box over secondary:
Lenght: 8 millimeter
Widht/ deep: 6 millimeter
Height: 2 millimeter
.

Maybe someone here have pictures of the real things or measurements..
If you do these i will buy it for sure

I'm not sure if ball-and-chain is possible but I know it's modelable and if the links fall within the minimum requirements I'll give it a shot. Does anyone have the length, width and diameter of the links and the diameter of the ball? In either 1/35 or 1/1.

Mike, how about some of the stuff that is getting hard to find for hmmwv? I can use a correct suspension set and blue tracker radio. From what I gather Pro Art Models and D-Toy did a really nice radio set but both are hard to find and that radio set is used in a lot of modern US vehicles.

Well as soon as I get more info I'll get to work on the BFT CPU and whatnot along with the CREW DUKE systems. Voyager and ET Models both make a SINCGARS/BFT and stand set. D-Toys, DEF Models and Calibre 35 make various suspension sets.

And I am working on that radio set. It's the SINCGARS R-1523A-E set.

DEF Models and Calibre 35 suspension are very hard to find. DEF set is discontinued and I haven't seen if Caliber resin has a website. So, there is a benefit for anyne that does a new set.

Mike (youngtiger), Calibre 35 folded a long time ago. Their suspension was not much more than a minor conversion that got rid of the plastic coil overs and added metal springs. I have their M998 conversion. It is well detailed but has serious warpage issues. The nice thing about their sets was they gave you extras of some of the castings.

I apologize if this has already been broached - haven't read all 18 pages of posts - but what about some 1/87 soldier sets?

I can't do figures. Combination of not enough experience and no true sculpting software.

Also, new project partial reveal time! This time is a doozy. Let's see if anyone out there can guess what it is based on this part: a mostly-complete partial engine deck/housing. Just finished the louvers on it.

And I'll give another hint. It's a heavily armored vehicle.

I'll look into it. Without something physical to base measurements off of, it'll be a bit more difficult.

Sure. Contact me in PM.

Here's another portion of the project, another hint (this may or may not give it away).

And a newly designed gun barrel! 155mm L/40 T7/T7E1 barrel as used on the T30.

Yes, the barrel is longer in the first picture. I had to length after I did some quick research and found that it should be 171mm in 1/35.

This project is very nearly finished. I just need a modified nose section model completed before it's truly finished.

This is the superstructure, gun and mantlet, plus various do-dads,of the T110E4. This is meant as a conversion set for Dragon's M48A1. Most of the hull from the kit will be used except for the upper nose which will have to be removed and replaced with a part that will be provided. Parts of the engine deck will be replaced. The commander's cupola will be used along with the antenna and other various pieces. The ventilator can be used or the one from the conversion could be.

Take note that this is based on the World of Tanks game model T110E3 and a few design plans. The T110E4 was supposed to be armed with a 120mm gun - not a 155mm.

Hm. No interest. I thought that this would've created at least a little stir.
