Ardennes 1944 - Ridin High!

The models involved were a Marder and a Panzerjäger I. During the building process I kept surfing the Internet of course, and found some more models that I could use in the future, not knowing that one of them would end up in the diorama: the Schwimmwagen by Italeri (kitno. 313). A couple of weeks later, it was halfway through January then, in a small hobby shop in Hoorn I came across a DKW motorcycle by Tamiya (kitno. 35241), German motorcycle orderly set, which I knew was in the photographs on Panzermodeler. I bought them immediately, because I wanted to be accurate.

The old work was done now and started on the DKW. The building went without problems. Like always a good and clear manual. Bringing the motorcycle to the right color was more difficult, as I am a Humbrol user by trade. At the time of painting the motorcycle I had no conversion table, so another night of no work on the DKW. So I set the DKW aside. Because there’s a plethora of spare parts in my scrapbox, I got the idea of using the Schwimmwagen in a diorama with an old figure from the 1/35 German soldiers seated (kit no. 3609) in it. Specifically the officer.
