Ardennes 1944 - Ridin High!

Back home finish the tank first. Spraying the Humbrol paint poses no problems for me so that was done quick. The base was already there with Humbrol 83. So first spayed on the green color, Humbrol 30 and then the brown, Humbrol 160. I left the tank to dry for another night in a closed box so now dust could adhere. The next day I “stamped” on the spot pattern instead of painting it. I took at thin strip that I would normally make window sills out of or something, and cut the end in a triangular shape and “stamped” on the pattern.

And let this dry again for another 24 hours. While the tank was drying, I assembled the Academy kit following the drawing on the back of the box. I also followed the color recommendations on the box. It is a pretty complicated set because there are a lot of separate hands, feet and heads in the box. Especially positioning the arms right was a problem because with some of the figures a weapon was placed between the arms and the body. But after 2 evenings the result was satisfying. Here, the facial parts underwent the same treatment as mentioned before. For the camo coat I followed the painting sequence as on the motorcyclist and painted the rest of the figures in Field Grey (no. 111).

So what had I finished now?

The motorcycle and it’s driver.
The Schwimmwagen with officer.
8 Jägers (still a little bare without gear).
4 infantrymen.
half finished tank.

And 2 weeks to the competition (can I get it done??)...
