I'm jumping in here a little late but this this is awesome! I just recently got one and I can't wait to start on the thing, but I'm currently working overseas and I've not even had a chance to look at the thing in the box yet

Hello Steve,
When I bought my DORA it came with a printed instruction book, but about half the pages were missing. I got in touch with Soar Art via the web address - [email protected] - and complained about it.
Within a couple of days I had an e-mail back from Oliver Lee who apologized and sent me an email with a series of JPEG attachments for the missing pages. Try getting in touch with him and asking for a copy of the instructions.
It's a total of 38 pages (each A4 size), of which the first 5 are pictures of the actual gun in use, and another 7 pages of part listing and sprue contents.
If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll forward the email attachments that I have and then scan in and forward the other pages.
Jim

Hi Steve,
Good luck with them. Once you get them through, I think your dad will be busy for the next few weeks/months .
Jim
PS - make sure he has a good supply of Panzer Grey paint.

Can you advise where to find 80cm Doira ammunition?
Hi, a german company "Schatton Modellbau" has a set.
http://www.panzer-modell.de/ausgepackt/archiv/schatton/3534.htm
and the company´s webpage
http://www.modellbau-schatton.privat.t-online.de/html/preisliste.html
Perhaps you can find another maker of an ammo-set or an hobby-shop which has the range of the company.
Hope this helps!
greetings...

Tom that's a WAY cool project, a monster. I ahve one question, how many gallons of paint will it take to cover it, LOL kidding. I will be interested in watching this build.

I read this blog religiously when it was being written and forgot all about it until I did a websearch for 80cm for some reason. Now I know I shouldn't, but I am going to check on EvilBay to see if I can get one of these monsters... GULP!!

This is an awesome thread of one of the biggest kits I've seen. Hats off to all of you guys that have gone down this road and are building or have built this kit. The corrections being documented here are of great value. I hope this thread continues to grow and document the kit issues as well as the aftermarket stuff that may come available for it.
I have this kit at home as well. Also have the Karl and the BR52 in 1/35. All on the shelf waiting. Oh and some other misc rail cars. I have no clue as to why I'm waiting to build them. Maybe just scared to hell as to where they will all go once built. Actually really looking forward to the BR52 build as well as it has a LOT of detail sets available.
Good times ahead.

Please Help!!!
Hi, this is my first time on the forum. I,m 69 yrs old [ wonder if I am too old to make Dora?] I have just purchased the kit and on opening the boxes I have discovered that I have no building instructions I have sent an email to Soarart to see if the can send me a copy , 6 days later I have not received a reply. Is there anyone that can help me with a copy of the building lnstructions? Please!
Hopefully awaiting a reply

Hi Carl.
Many thanks for the time and effort you must have put into the photographing and sending the build instructions. It is this sort of thing that makes these forums so worthwile to belong to. If this mistake [by the manufacturer] was made 30 or 40 years ago we would have had no other option but to wait on 'snail mail for a reply from the manufacturer and that would have been weeks and weeks if you were lucky.
Thanks once again Carl.

Anything I can do to help, Bob.
As your instructions were missing, go over the kit, and make sure no sprues are missing.
As you build, keep the sprues in their bags, in the correct sub cardboard nbaox. It will make finding what you need much easier

Hi tom, very impressive. I was wondering the size of completed model of dora 1/35th railway gun..I believe its six feet or close to it? Do you plan on listing completed model for sale on EBAY?

Hi. I'm new to this forum, but like the builds that you guys do. As for Dora, have any of you thought of putting it in a diorama featuring the cutting and camoflage netting used to semi-hide it. You could build it into a coffee table. Looks like an awesome kit, but alas a bit too expensive for my taste. I'll stick with Leopold, which I have nearly completed.

Nick, if you look at the dimensions listed after the last photo you'd probably realize that said coffee table would be huge! To get away with an idea like that, you'd have to drop down to 72nd, or 144th scale.

Ok then. How about a drinks bar . Just kidding. Although a coffee table is what I would like to display my K5E Diorama in.
