The Lion Roar etch is certainly very nice.

Boggie,
I am a professional chef - I spend ALOT of time with Cleavers, fillet knives, paring knives, and Chef knives. I used to keep a wood block on the wall at one place just deal with boredome.........

Thanks again to Frenchy these excellent pics of SF HMMWV's in Afghanistan. I particularly like the high shot that shows off the interior, great for details. Anyone know anything about these machines with the super narrow turrets?
Bill
I rearranged my Photo Bucket albums so I lost the original links. I'll go back and sort them out.

I think I saw this on Nat Geo sometime last year - there was an embedded crew with SF and they got the ambush on tape. Interesting stuff....

You certainly have some fine artifacts in your new and used shop, must come in handy.
Frenchy sent me this a while back and I thought I'd show it here for your comments. It is in Afghanistan I know but do you ever see M1114's configured like these?
Bill
I have seen them. They are not dissimilar to the original GMV. They obviously have the additional armor, but still retain the corregated style side rails underneath. They would not be hard to replicate, the main thing being the newer style windshield.
At the beginning of this thread I show a photograph of something similar with additional armor plates added to the outside of the side rails. These also had Kevlar blankets lashed to them for additional protection. The ones pictured here to not have the scissor mounts at the rear.
I have seen the occasional Soviet WWII SMG, and also several Stens.
I'm glad the thread is back on track. I blame myself for hijacking my own thread with the weapons, although they are always interesting. Just wanted to give some insight as to what's in use.

In the Afghanistan HMMWV thread I posted another picture of a GMV. You mention the armoured windshield, is that the same windshield on a 1151 as the 1114? Just wondering if the MIG windshield would work for a 1151 conversion. These is different running board armour different from the 1114 but that is no biggie. How about the roof is that the same as the 1114? Definately you could use the MIG extended armour with the winch attached. So then it's scratching the interior which you are doing right now. Any pictures of the "trunk" area of the GMV in your neck of the woods for all us HMMWV modellers???????
I for one am anxious to see what you've been working on in your "spare time".
Stay well

Hmm the side profile of it seems a bit too "curved" is that correct?
