Maybe you should have to drill some "squares" of the mesh over the engine as it looks like some glue fill them.
I noticed that too. An easy fix that I'll take care of. Currently casting all of the extra gear that is going to adorn her. lol. Thanks, "Q"

Thanks Lars.

I have cast some of the extra gear for it, and also went thru my box of spare IDF gear from past builds that met an untimely death

Buried somewhere underneath all that is a Tamiya M-113.

Trying to figure out a somewhat logical stowage plan is proving to be a tough nut to crack, Had I built up the interior, and left the rear cargo hatch open it would have been easier, but.... I have to deal with this as best I can

. More pics to follow as I make progress. Thanks, "Q"

That does it. I'll be buying one today. Despite the problems you mentioned Olivier, it looks to be coming along very well. Thanks for posting pics of your progress. Think you'll finish before the end of the month? Sure hope so as I'd like to see one built and painted.

Thaks again for sharing. "Q"

Great job, Mecanix! A truly unique vehicle with a very weathered paintjob. I guess falling through a bridge in the jungle can do that
Nice progress on the Kazman, Matthew. It is getting that "lived in" look now.
I am still waiting for my order for Model Hobbies before I can continue with my Puma. It is more than a month since I placed the order and it is not shipped yet

Is there a gallery set up for our completed builds or are we just posting them here? Thanks, "Q"

Okay so I fired away a PM to MarkM and here's the official gallery:
http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/24009Everyone who has previously finished their builds, should also upload their pics here.
Oh and nice work everyone, I especially like the AIFV, funky little vehicle, that one!

Is the gallery for complete models only ? If so, how many pictures are we to upload ?
TIA

Here are some progress pictures. I got the base coat done and the decals applied on a glossy varnish. Then I seal them with a matt varnish layer with some drops of light earth paint to begin giving a shaded tone.
The decals were all but top notch. They were torn apart while trying to remove them from the paper. The various stencils are useless as for some reason the letters of some lines are reversely printed ! So you get one line readable while others need a mirror ! Even if I'm not Dutch speaking, the texts are obviously wrong and the French stencils are all missing.
Still some work to go before getting it complete.
Olivier

Olivier, did you use the kit tracks or something else? I also have the same kit, which I will build as a Turkish Army AIFV in Nato colors. How was the kit in general? Too bad about the decals, but I will not use them anyway, I have to make my own.

Hi,
the tracks are the kit ones. They can be glued with thin cement. I realise the sagging effect that way too. The good point is they are of different lengths to adjust to the running gear. The bad point about all the running gear is you have to enlarge all the positioning holes of the wheels, sprockets and in a lesser way idlers. For some reason, AFV issued the M730 kit sprue for the wheels but the axles on the hull are just too large !
The kit is quite good even if some details can be improved or added like the rear lights wiring covers and the trim vane inner "bumpers". My hull was badly warped thus creating large gaps. I coped with this by extensive use of CA glue.

Greetings everyone, some real nice builds happening on this campaign. I put my Luchs aside for a couple of weeks as the suspension was driving me batty and cross-eyed.

Revell designers really must have created this kit for want to be masochists. At the least it might drive one to drink. Anyway, I pretty much finished the suspension today and applied a light wash to make it stand out better in the pictures.
Here's the overall completed suspension.
The rear components.
The front components.
Now I can get going with the easier and more fun part of the build.
Cheers,

Well, I finally finished mine. I thought it was never going to happen. Anyway, here is my M113A3. It is the Tamiya M113A2 base kit with partial Academy M113 interior, scratch built spall liners, eduard PE set, and some left over goodies from other builds. The covered ruck sacks were Tamiya Ruck sacks that I added gear to, then covered with saran wrap, then made molds out of them and eventually castings. The traffic cones were made out of an old glue tip glued to a square piece of plastic, and the flags were scratch built as well. I learned a lot building this thing. I learned that sometimes it is not worth the effort and aggrevation of using every single little PE piece on the sheet, and youre probably not going to see it anyway when its done! LOL Anyway, heres the pics guys, enjoy.

.....And, I'd also like to submit my Canadian Staghound Mk 1 shown as a 12th Manitoba Dragoons vehicle in Belgium in the summer of 1944. This is the Bronco kit with some scratchbuilt modifications to the exhaust trunks. Photos in the campaign folder too...
cheers
