Plenty of material in his biography already to make a nice book, isn't it ?

When we reach this stage in a JBA blog, where we are shown the final photos, after the usual awe struck amazement at the particular project, I always find myself asking "how will he possibly out do this the next time?"
Amazingly enough, each new diorama turns out stunningly fresh and different.
Congratulations to you Jean-Bernard, every aspect of this diorama holds interest. Your painting of the light effects is particularly noteworthy.
I will stop here as all has been said before, and any more would begin to sound like a school girl gushing over a rock star!
Take care my friend,
Charles

Jean-Bernard,
This is beyond a simple diorama. This is a piece of artwork, since it has the look and emotion of an intense painting, especially some of the Combat Artwork and Paintings I've seen before. I withdraw my earlier suggestions, since this needs nothing to add to it to invoke your intent.
As suggested above, you should publish all your work, either as a bibliography or as a "How To" - I would buy it!

This is by far my favourite work of your so far mate, i say `so far` because i know you will strive to do even better.
The simple base is just right for the scene, i agree too many times the base becomes too elaborate and distracts from the scene it is displaying.
Bravo my friend,
Steve

Emotionally this is my favorite diorama of yours.
I can't say anything more than what already been said - simply great.

The fire surpressing foam does look so good and some I think are looking on that as sea foaming over a beach after the crash. It is so good to see that everyone has their own take on the scene.
Personally I think if there was any more added to the scene it would loose the point of the lonelyness and desperate position that the ball gunner had in life and in death here.
The composition of the two pieces of aircraft is simply stunning. The frame of the aircraft that shielded him from the elements in flight now shielding him from life saving foam. Its also acting as a sombre backdrop to the washing of his life blood from the very guts of his toomb.

Well I normally do not post much on this site of kitmaker, but your work is just outstanding!
It is a harsh contrast to the silent morbidity of Galileé or Sharks, but I like it anyway. You are a great artist! Many thanks for sharing your work!

Incroyable Super Bravo pas d'autre mot pour le dio
this is outstanding full of emotion, JBA. Big A find the master of dio, I mean from zero materials dio, without no plastic kit without AM stuff you did a great dio.
And I do beleive this is a simple message to us, dont need to spend money on AM pieces but it is better to spend time on research and technics.
This is my point of view.
Now, I would like to see the next one away from water, well let say with frozen water.
This will be super great.
I love your dio, but I would like to see your skills tackle a different environement.
What do you think JB ???
Cheers
Seb

Absolutely fabulous JBA, and so emotive
To me this is the kind of diorama that should be used to teach - like so few it shows the horrible reality of the sacrifices made to retain ( or regain depending on your nationality) our freedom.

Thanks Guy, you know I doubt I could become a real professional
Frank, you made the answer thanks for your comment and for your great pics a while back
Thank you Claude, no book for me, I have 30 years ahead (if God gives me life) to think about this!
Alex, thanks again for illustrating the idea of the diorama in the first post, you are really a talented graphic designer
Thank you Paul!
Stephan, I am honestly overworked since the begginning of september, but it seems activity creates more activity if you see what i mean, i work a lot, I model a lot, I type a lot and ultra fast too, etc
What's next? i have my Masséna diorama which I begun 18 months ago to finish thanks!
Hey Kenneth friend, thank you, now it's up to you to end up your own diorama
Ah, you make me smile Charles my friend I have enough ideas to fill 3 lifetimes these days! And as usual thanks for the support!
Thanks for the encouragements jeff, for the moment i prefer the direct contact with fellow modellers and answering the questions the most honestly I can
Aha Steve, this one doesn't have much figure to look at! The day i master your art of sculpting, maybe you would like those new ones better Thanks friend
hey second or third time someone says it's his preferred diorama of mine, which means I am in a rising curve again! yeah!, thanks Scott
Thanks Nige, appreciated Indeed it had to me ultra minimalist to work, death looks like death when there is only death to look at, at least it's how I saw it. A fireman would have sort of steal the show if you see what i mean.
Q, you missed blood (sort of) it's fixed up now (bloody photobucket)
thank you James
Mike thank you -at the moment let's all buy Claude's great book Like I said, i have a 30 years ahead to do that. i am in a hurry for nothing
thank you Nico, the poem was pretty great for starters!
many thanks Steffen, incidentally, i also know your work with planes as I sometimes drop by there to say hello to Jean-Luc!
Again long time no see Alan! nice to see you there and thanks for your comments
Libor -thanks for taking the time to connect from holidays! Hope Germany's weather is fine!
Seb thanks, well I think that for starters I have been using 30€ without postage worth of aftermarket -naming the bullets Dave sent me and the guns which are not scratchbuilt. Well this diorama was still different from others as you don't have either stream or sea, just a mostly plain surface. then ice I already did, and though i am itching to do some again, well, I have my time for this
What do I think? well, i shouldn't lead my love for boats and sea carry me away from what my original ideas are, so that's it, I will try to be closer to my real aims, and maybe, this will lead me a bit far away from the sea soon enough
Well, my friends, thanks again for viewing and commenting, this is all very heartwarming and certainly motivates me to do one again here sometimes, sooner or later

Have you considered adding a comrade or US soldier watching the scene in despair ... or would this be just too obvious?

hey Dave, sorry, mails crossed, ah thanks, that was not the real aim of this diorama, but if it should teach anybody that dying at war and thing about sacrifice, well, i would be really happy about it. the more I know about war (from books and others eh) the more I remember the pages in Conrad's "Heart of darkness" which say "the horror, the horror.."

ohhh my sweet Lord!!
I am totally baffled by this one....
Don't know what to say..............................
You, dear Sir, are seriously gifted and I humbly bow my head.
I watched this one go together form the start and I was impressed with each update you showed.... Yes, you sure showed us!
The scratching, the use of techniques, the way this piece has been put together and painted.. This will be a goldwinner should you decide to enter any contest.

Hi JB,
outstanding job you did with this dio. I like the colours very much, together with the 'strange' looking objects like the ball turret and part of the hull, it makes a very surreal scene.
Thanks for this dio and giving such great insight in the techniques you use.

Really good diorama. Shouldn't the blood be dripping towards the water?
