Thank you for the greetings and wishes. I'll try.

Well here is my almost finished entry. I am toying around with two different ideas. As you can see it is simply whether to add the geese or not. I think it gives the vignette more of a story and it also adds a little humor. It probably isn't necessarily very realistic but you never know what a military man will do to break up the boredom. I am pretty certain that I am going to add the geese. Please let me know what you think.
I will take better pictures for my final entry. As I mentioned I am pretty certain that I will add the geese but I thought I would see what others thought of the idea.
Thanks,
HARV

I say go ahead and add the geese. I can just imagine a bored MP stuck outside all day goofing off like that.
I wish I saw this campaign sooner, I can already imagine what my build would be. But I've got the Tamiya Field Kitchen to work on for now.
I can't wait to see everyone's finished builds!
Cheers,
Justin

Same from me: add the geese! It's looking very good ( and with the geese even more ).

Hi Harv,
Yep, the geese or esle, can't argue with the mob consensus.. It will add a nice touch to your 'vignette' (is that the right term as it is a figure, a vehicle, err.. oh I give up )
Nice work anyway.

Thank you for your replies guys. That definitely helped me make my final decision. I do like the geese but I thought I would see what others thought.
They are from the Tamiya farm animals set. The baby geese are actually baby chickens I guess but they look close enough to make me happy!!
Thanks again and I should have my final project posted soon.

Hello All,
I think the geese make a great addictions to your build, It makes a scene a lot better.
As you all know, Jim McIntosh has been keeping an eye on my campaigns. Last week I went in for more surgery, The valve in my heart let go, I lost about half of my blood before I got to Hospital. When I got there is was very gray from the blood lost They did emergency surgery that night and I went into a coma for a few days. No big deal everything is fine.
The docs are letting me us my laptop to keep in touch, But I need to keep in hidden from Nurse "Ratchet" . She tries to take it away.
I will be here for another week for more tests and to make sure all is well. I know that Jim is doing a great Job with the mess I left him.
Jim is a great friend and a Great Modeler. If you have any Questions, I know he will get you a quick answear.
Again, Some great Models are being done, Thank you for being in the campaign I promise I will be more active in a week or so.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hey Bruce, sorry to hear about your troubles. You're lucky to have got to the hospital in time. Hope you're up and about again real soon.
Harv, if the baby geese are really chickens, does that mean we can ask why did the chickens cross the road in front of an MP? ;-)
Welcome Vasiliy. looking forward to seeing your first dio. I've never attempted one. And your english is excellent!
Cheers,
Sean

Hi Bruce. Sorry to hear about your problem. Hope you'll get better very soon. And yes, you're right, Jim is a great modeler and he's doing a good job, I'm sure we'll be fine with him around.
All the best.
Welcome Vasiliy. I'm sure it's gonna be one nice diorama. The MB set is very nice ( I also took the sentry box from it for my project). Could you tell me how is the Zvezda set? I mean the quality, details. I have a lot of Zvezda sets but not all of them are good ( especially those cast in green styrene ) and I want to know if i should buy it

A set of ZVEZDA had not yet enrolled in a public sale, I do not have it, he is only in Internet stores. In our shop promises to bring in the new year. I had one set of this company and he did not like. As soon as I have on hand this set, I will describe.

Ok, thank you for your quick response. Anyway, considering the low price , it's worth trying to make something nice out of their kits.

Yes, it's true. Best thing is that you can work something out of them, despite the quality. They have some unique subjects and poses.
I understand from your photo that you're using the soldiers from the MB set. I presume the oficer and one of the soldiers. Will you put one of the dogs that come with the set?

Yes it is an officer and a soldier with a submachine gun, a dog will not be used.

Thank you Justin, I appreciate that. For one of the old Tamiya kits the motorcycle does turn out pretty nice. I might build another one sometime so I can show it with the rider.

I guess so Sean, maybe you have a new joke there!! But maybe instead of baby chickens maybe they are a cross.........a GOOSKEN or a CHICKOOSE?!?!
Thank again guys. I am glad that you like the way it looks.
Bruce. So sorry to hear that you are having continued health problems. I will be glad when you are all healed up and back at it.

Well here is my finished entry.
I apologize for the quality of the photos. I am not the best photographer in the world.
My project consisted of the following items:
Tamiya US Military Police Set 35084
Tamiya Livestock Set 35128
Tamiya Brick Wall Set 35028
Tamiya Road Sign Set 35067
Tamiya and Model Master paints.
Testors Dull Cote.
Rust-Oleum Multicolor Textured spray paint #223525 Aged Iron. (This was for the base)
A peanut butter jar lid for the base (I started out with a mayonnaise jar lid but had to scrap it)
Dry wall mud for the sidewalk.
The figure and motorcycle were built straight out of the box with no modifications other than I shaved off the raised US emblem on the holster to make it look more like a canvas holster and I added the US star decals to the gas tank on the motorcycle. The decals were leftovers from a US Willys Jeep kit. The cobblestone street is actually brick wall sections from the Tamiya Brick Wall Set. I glue them together and cut and sanded them to shape and then glued them to the base. I painted the area between the bricks sand color and then painted the bricks with various earth tone colors. I made the sidewalk with drywall mud. I made the basic shape and let it dry thoroughly. I then sanded it to shape and added the lines with my razor saw. The streetlight is from the Tamiya Road Sign set. The geese are from the Tamiya Livestock Set. The baby geese are actually baby chickens but I guess they play the part alright. I glued everything in place and sprayed everything with Dull Cote to take away the shine. I guess that is about it.
I enjoyed this campaign and I am glad that everyone thought that adding the geese was a good idea. I do like the way the scene turned out.
Figure modeling and diorama building are still fairly new to me so this was yet another stepping stone for me.
Thank you everyone for the comments, support and assistance with my project.
Thank you for the campaign Bruce. You always come up with good ones.

Nice looking Harv. Did a good job mixing all that Tamiya sets to get such a beauty. I really like this kind of dios, out of the ordinary, as opposed to other " more serious".
