@Sean: I'm sorry for you; I really wanted to see this finished and complete. Maybe you have some luck and you get it done.
@Scott: Looking good, I think the wheels are not ready yet ( the tyre around the rim)
Good luck to all, can't wait to see another great builds.

Looking very good Scott and I'm sure that it will look even better with some weathering. Good luck! I don't know why but I've allways liked Hummers very much, so seeing a model of it makes my day.

@ Byron,
I am doing the same kit. hopefully the figures will arrive to go with it. Did you have any problems? I am also doing it OOB. Thanks for the update.
Sorry for the delay, The kit has no problems, very easy to build. I did glue the tires so they do not move.
Happy Modeling

I joined this campaign a little late, but I should finish in time. Going to make a nice small vignette using Tamiya's orderly set (just the MP and bike):

Oh what a surprise. I was showing the site and the MP campaign to a friend at work, and I saw the last post saying there were only 13 days left! Holy XXXX! and I haven't written anything to back up my own entry into this campaign!
Well, thanks for the patience (and a six month window in which to play).
I'm looking at seven vehicles (1/35th scale) that I wanted to represent the evolution of MP vehicles through the years. They are:
1) Tamiya MB Jeep
2) Academy M151A1
3) Tamiya HMMWV
4) Verlinden V-100/M706
5) Tamiya M-8
6) Bronco M706
7) Hobby Boss M1117
1) The MB Jeep is OOB, using the Military Police markings that came with the kit. Although built from the box, I spent a lot of time in prepping the kit, and it took first at the local IPMS competition a few years back.
2) The Academy M151 (I absolutely refuse to call this vehicle a "MUTT", it was always a jeep or quarter-ton when we referred to the truck) is a good little kit. I like to place it next to the MB, to show that although it serves the same purpose, the M151 was a noticeably larger vehicle than the MB. I added the required MP equipment in the form of a red light and bracket on the cowl, using an MV lens for the red light. The fender-mounted siren was a light bomb in another life before re-shaping, bracket added and data plate added. The kit seats have the front pivots added. I folded the back seat up, added the canvas backing to those cushions, On the M4 pedestal mount for the machine gun, I made the inverted "U" bracket that the pedestal actually bolts to. This is in turn bolted to the floorboard between the front seats. The support legs were re-shaped and their attachment to the pedestal was corrected. I added an older Verlinden VRC 46 radio with mike and cord. I added the gas can "Y" straps, and the circular spare tire "MILITARY POLICE" cover. Using a Phantom down-loadable font, I printed out the "MILITARY POLICE" windshield marking. The bumper codes represent my vehicle from my National Guard days. I replaced the headlights with more MV lenses, added PE hood latches and hood tie-down footman loop. I have yet to add the passenger safety strap.
3) The Tamiya M1025 was updated using the Blast (I believe) set for the rooftop smoke launchers, turret replacement and gunshield, and replacement resin tires. I had originally used the kit rubber tires, but added an oil wash to them when weathering. That ended up dis-solving the rubber after a few days....... live and learn, what a great hobby! I used the kit decals for the 210 MP Co.
4) The Verlinden V-100 Commando armored car was a decent kit, but basically a solid body, 2 axles and wheels, plus a turret. That's about it. With work and references, it actually built out as a nice kit, just really heavy and challenging to handle safely! I have repainted it several times, and it's waiting another fresh coast, to serve as a backdrop to the Bronco M706. I printed the black Military Police decals on an ink-jet printer. I drafted some MP vehicle markings and contacted Black Lion Decals in the Netherlands to have them printed up. Good decals and a fair price.
5) Tamiya M8 is based on a reference photo fromthe Korean War days. On this vehicle, full "MILITARY POLICE" markings were painted on the rear side fenders and the front glacis plate. The kit was wonderful to build, very detailed and the one-piece chassis is so easy to work with. It didn't take MPs long to realize the value of armor when they could get their hands on it. I had these full markings printed from Black Lion also. Two sets are needed, as they are a bit translucent.
6) The Bronco M706/V-100 Commando came out last year, and the fact there was a rudimentary interior included really brought it to my attention. It would have been nice if it was accurate, included a cluth pedal to go with the brake pedal, and some turret interior as well. Well, that's why we do this hobby, right? I scratchbuilt the turret basket, added traverse gear and handle, machine gun receivers, ammo boxes and feed chutes, basket supports and floor, gunner seat and periscope, and opened the turret hatch. Inside the hull I re-worked the rear firewall and radio operator position, re-worked the driveshaft tunnel and transfer case cover, added radios and mounts, intercom boxes and wiring, overhead hull-top bracing, crashpads to inside hull walls and wheel well arches, fire extinguisher and vision block crash pads on all of the block positions. Interior placards were also added. I have added resin AM wheels and tires, and have AM decals to add. I still have to get the hull halves together and then eliminate the seams befor a final color coat and marking go on. I did not try to re-shape the wheel well arches on the interior. I tracked another members work in doing that, and felt that when looking in the hatches, the existing curved ones would fit my needs.
7) The Trumpeter M1117 Guardian ASV is the last kit in the series. Although it is the newest vehicle, it doesn't take much to compare with the M706 to see the lineage of the vehicle. I am about ready to put color on the Guardian, but still have to finish the replacement of the rear taillight guards which broke when being removed from the sprue. I am leaving this OOB, aside from replacing the broken parts, for competition, so there are no DUKE antennas, etc on this one.
That's it to this point. Time off to follow-up on these has been scarce, and now I'll see what a full day off can come up with! I have finally posted some pictures of the subject matter (see "my photos") as of today. The V-100 requires a tad more gap-filling and sanding before the final color coat goes on. Time for a base coat for th M1117. Stay tuned!

Hello Jim,
Looks like you will be busy in the next 11 Days.
I am also doing the Tamiya jeep, OOB no weathering. I am going to use it in a Dio for the PZ 4 campaign that is coming up and then do all of the weathering then.
Thanks for the update,
Cheers,
Bruce

Wow, lots of nice models in this campaign. I am going to keep it simple:
I've put the figure together. Still have a few small gaps to fill, but the overall sculpting is really nice. Any suggestions on what color to use for the uniform are appreciated. I haven't been able to find much info online so far. It seems to be a brownish olive drab....

I sure wish I would have seen this campaign sooner. I have the Trumpeter M1117 to build as a BLOG for this site. There just isn't enough time to get it done since I'm on the road this week and and the last week of February.
