Been following your progress on this from the start. In more than 30 years of modeling I have rarely seen a story-line told in which all of the components blend and support the narrative as well as yours. This one is a creative masterpiece, Jerry, and should be in a museum!! If I may suggest, take those same photos you've already posted, but in black & white, and I'd bet they could go into an historical account of the Normandy campaign and it would be hard to tell they are miniatures. Outstanding work!!!

Hi Jerry,
This is a bit like the last episode of a favorite, epic "show"! It's really a pleasure tho to see it all together. It's great to see so many dynamic, individual figures and events tied up - all the work! Wow - looks great! And, thanks for so many WIP photos along the way - as great a conclusion as you have made, the documentation of your process is fantastic!
Ok Jerry, it's back to the workbench for you! Waiting already for the next one!
Nick

Morning Jerry,
Excellent work, it's been a pleasure to watch this one develop. Triffic eye for detail and both men, horses and vehicles blend together really well.
The quality and workmanship shine through, a real Gem. I hope you submit this one as a feature so that ir doesn't get lost in the list of threads as time goes by.
Outstanding and inspiratonal my friend.
Cheers

I think what Nick said about this thread being like watching an epic show on TV- and we've just got to the amazing last episode and we see it all come together and you're just left in awe of it all. Seeing all the intricate sub-builds that Jerry has posted along the way all now come together to tell the story is extremely inspiring from the modelers point of view. The drama and detail all now brought together is amazing to see.
I really do hope you submit this as a Feature like Al mentions- it would make just as good a feature as it has a build log. Its a nice tribute to Romain as well, I'm sure he'd have loved it.
Congratulations on finishing this masterpiece Jerry.

Jerry
What a stunning piece of work. It's simply outstanding. You've really captured the panic of the beaten troops, fighting their way out of the pocket, before it closes and traps them. You should be very proud.
Best regards
Jacob

Jerry,
Well, was it worth the wait? Absolutely! You've done a great job with this. I only wish I had half your talent, vision and commitment.
The little details keep catching the eye and the whole thing together has urgency and drama.
If I had one small (and I mean small) thing to mention, as has been mentioned elsewhere, the smoke plumes a a little too straight. It's nearly always windy in Normandy (including now ) and straight plumes look a little out of place.
As for the model itself, I think it's brilliant. The way everything is crammed in I think accurately reflects the scenes in the pocket at the time. It looks chaotic but in a natural way.
Well done
Nice dedication to Romain, too.
Cheers,
Sean

I love the drama in this. I've been following this dio from the start and have loved the level of care and detail you have included. Despite this I could not have predicted how well the whole thing has turned out. Excellent work mate, at both an artistic and a technical level.

Very nice of you to say. The black and white thing is a great idea but...I know nothing about how to do that kind of electronic magic! Thanks for following along over this long build. I look forward to your next build.

Thanks for the nice comments buddy! I know that you are aware of the feeling you get when a large project finally gets done. I can say in my defense that I finished a few smaller ones while this one was on-going so it wasn't that bad.
It is going to be a little weird to not have this thread going any more. For me anyway. Thanks for sticking with me!

Always nice to hear what Karl has to say and today is no exception. There were a few times when I felt like throwing in the towel on this one but one of the things that kept me going was your (and others) posts. I would love to submit this as a feature but as I said above I don't know how.

Thanks a lot Sean,
I was also not too happy with the smoke plumes. They look too wispy. Others agree with you. Luckily I made the blue part as a separate piece and the green mountains can stay the same. I should have paid more attention in art class. Your comments are very generous for sure.

Paul and Dave,
Thanks to both of you for following along on this almost from the start! I think you are quite generous with your praise but I am thankful for it. Yes,I wish Romain was around to see it as he had a special place inside him for the horses.
Hopefully I will get tpo post on your twos' threads in the future very soon?
