Jeremy, many thanks. I ordered a sheet and a gun barrel.
Being new to the hobby means I have no clue what is available. It probably takes some time to know the market.

Great! And feel free to share any of your questions with us

There is a PE set from eduard as well, #35208. It says it's for the Italeri kit, but they are literally the same kit as the Zvezda one that you have. I wouldn't worry about it too much though, it's mostly comprised of tiny brackets that are more than likely going to be more of a pain than they're worth.

I just picked up a BT-5 and am tempted to set my current build aside in favor of it.

Hello All,

I'm new to this forum but I would like to join this campaign.
There is no much time left so I've chosen something simple to build - polish light reconnaissance tank 4TP.
More info about the tank: http://derela.republika.pl/en/4tp.htm linkname

And here is my set

So, may I join you?

Marek, first of all that is a great choice! And yes you may join, but you must first post a photo of your kit next to something that shows the current date.

Would a Neubaufhrzeug be acceptable? It was a propoganda tank and was never put into production. It wasn't operational during either WWI or WWII.
P.S. The previous owner removed six pieces from the sprue.

Yes, and that's not a problem. Just post a photo of it in its current state with an item showing the current date. Which scale are you going to be building?

I was prepared for this. Here is the photo from yesterday.

And the model is in 1:35 scale.

Cool work, Irwin. It looks good. Looking forward to see more.

Here is my entry in the campaign. A dinosaur kit of the pz. I. I have never build this kit before, so it will be interesting. For some reason a PAK 40 75mm is included as well. Not the most logical combination, but a nice addition none the less.

More to follow soon.

Irvin: I second that, outstanding detailing!

Jesper: The real question is why didn't they provide any cavalry? Get that little panzer going!

Good point, Jeremy

After an evening building the panzer I is already constructed. It is a very small tank and even smaller in this scale.

More to follow.....

The scary thing is that's not the smallest tank, even in braille!

@Jesper - Ah, that little tyke brings back memories. I built it eons ago it was quite something for it's era. I wouldn't mind finding another and really going to town on it.

@Jeremy - Would you be thinking of the Renault FT-17 as the smallest tank in Braille? I'm surprised that we aren't seeing more of those in this campaign.

As for my build of the NbFz, I'm having problems with the brown camo. I've had two tries at it and it just isn't looking right. Currently restarting the painting after stripping (again). Who would have thought that such a simple scheme would be such a problem. I think a lot of it has to do with all the weird angles on the beast. I'm not willing to give up on the scheme yet but it is frustrating.

Cheers,
Jan

But of course! There's nothing like a tank that's so small it doesn't even really have seats

I think that the brown will look weird on the gray until you use a filter because they are both dark colors, if that even makes sense?

The tracks on the pz. I are way to long. I have to cut them down and tie them up with cobber wire.

More to follow soon.

This is an awesome campaign, as all of Jeremy's are, and I bought a Stuart tank for backdating, but time is running short-- lots of overtime at work and stuff with the kids. I'm in 4 or 5 campaigns that end on 12/31, so I'll have to let this campaign slip away and finish what I can of those I've started. I still have to build something for my own Hangar Queen 2 campaign on AeroScale!
I like the WWI one forming up now, but of course I'll see you all in the other campaigns around here too, before then.
Keep up the great work going here! I hope there's a feature coming at the end!
thanks,
-Sean H.

Jesper: Ah, now that's bringing back memories... wish we had some MK tracks for you. The last time I tried working tracks like those on a Tamiya kit they reacted very oddly and sort of melted into goo when I was trying to fuse the ends together and attach them to the kit.

Sean: It's always a pleasure to have you in any campaign bud And just on a side note this campaign is the brainchild of Matt Smith (BigSmitty ). I understand how life goes, let me know if I can do anything to help. I'm wondering when I'm going to start having nightmares about all of the half-built and unbuilt kits I have for all the campaigns that I couldn't finish

Thanks for the tip on the tracks, Jeremy. I have simply cut the tracks to the right length and tied them together with thin copper wire. Looks decent.

Jeremy, all those unbuilt kits will work great with "git R done" or "hangar Queen" campaigns

The base color is also on. More to follow.

@SGTKJ - Jesper,

That little Panzer is sure coming together quickly. Looking good!

===========================================================================

As for me, I finally set some time aside to work on the NbFz 3-5. I started the latest camouflage attempt using successive "washes" of red-brown. Got a little tired of that and decided to tackle the running gear rubber. What a mistake! For those that haven't counted, there are 44 road wheels and 16 return rollers. To say the least, it took quite a while.

For some reason the camera lightened the grey but the red-brown is fairly close. So far the splotches are the result of three coats and I figure it'll take another one or two to get it more even.

Cheers,
Jan
