The front isn't a big deal, it's just like a HMMWV, it's not armored to take a big blast up front. It's sort of sacrificial. The crew compartment is what needs to keep you safe.
*Edit* Just saw that picture... yeah, that sucks, those guys had a bad day. RIP brothers. The Polish truck that got hit last month was worse though. It's like anything else though, build a big enough bomb, you can kill anything, and Afghans build em big.
As to what would and would not stand up to a blast, without knowing the circumstances behind that blast, I couldn't say, and it's also something I'm not comfortable talking about on an open forum. No need to help the bad guys get more information on how to kill us than they already have, OPSEC and all that.

No worries. Don't let that stop you from asking questions. I was hoping this topic would generate more discussion.

Don't worry Steve, I've got a million questions to post on this thread, or should I say, will have as I proceed with the kit.
I need Fire extinguishers, radio's and ammo boxes. I cant find these anywhere!!!

Ammo boxes, the ones from Arms Corps models are the best I've seen so far. The way the ammo sits in the open ones is natural and well detailed, and his resin ammo belts are the best I've seen in any media. His DUKE antennae are also outstanding, can't recommend them enough. Live Resin's weapons are of course outstanding as well. My order for their new sets of ammo boxes and spare barrels just shipped from Russia so when I get those I'll post a review of them.

Where would the vehicle crew store there weapons in this vehicle ? are there brackets that they fit into or are they just rested against an avalable space in the vehicle? Any help would be great as i hav the Kinetic version of the M-ATV and will be using the Legend Humvee crew in the vehicle.
Thanks in advance Neil

Personal weapons for the TC, and dismounts in the back are stowed muzzle down where ever they have room. When I had to ride in M-ATV's I had my M4 or SAW muzzle down between my legs so I could egress the vehicle quickly without having to find my weapon. There are no weapons racks, except the gunner who may have one in the turret of the O-GPK. Driver stows his wherever he can find room, he should never be dismounting unless it's an absolute emergency so having it available isn't such a big deal for him.

No, the radiator is verticle. The engine is an in-line 6 cylinder 7.6L C7 CAT turbodiesel. I plan on using the CMK M939 series engine to go in it. It is pretty close in size and layout (in-line 6 cyl Cummins NHC 250 diesel) and can be modified to look close enough if you want to show it open.
CMK M939 Series engine.

I haven't started anything on it yet. It's just an idea so far. I'll post it here if/when I start it though.

Does anybody know if there is a AM company working on a RPG-Net for the PANDA-Kit or other AM stuff like interior upgrades and stowage?
I know that Blast have done the CROWS 2 and I own one kit.

Just picked up the Panda set. I believe 9could be wrong though) that the SF version has a hatch/door from the crew compartment to the rear bed. If this the case does anyone any details of what it looks like?.

Did anyone see the NBC news story with Atia Abawi from Kabul on Feb 27,2012? MRAP photos included a parked MATV and another damaged MRAP being towed. Interesting story of current use. Looking for your insights on what was shown. Will try to post a screen dump.

I found this so far, the wheels looks bigger on this one.
I don't like posting pictures of damaged/destroyed US vehicles, but this is already open source so here you go. This should address the radiator question.
For those looking for engine references, here is an article from Car and Driver magazine with some good pictures.

sooooo...what happened to Seb's review of the Kinetic kit?
Posted: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 - 08:27 PM UTC
As I haven't yet been able to discuss the matter with James Bella (or Seb either for that matter) I only want to say that we fully intend on re-publishing the review at some point soon. But I do have serious reservations about the overall tone of the review when compared to reviews already out there by folks like Brett Green at Hyperscale. We also have a kit review in the works as well by Rob Harvey.
Once I get the chance to communicate with James and Seb on these issues I am very hopeful we can get his review back up on the site.
Stay tuned...
Jim

?? Why the need to compare it to other reviews? I thought Seb's review was rather accurate. I have the kit and was not that impressed, it has a 'east European' or low run quality about it. I've also been able to compare it to the Panda version and the size comparisons are striking, especially the tires and hood. Shame an honest review isn't 'good' enough anymore...
