Hey Steve & Pascal,
Pictures are very much appreciated, the RG-31 ones are fantastic for the rear of the CROWS, and the SF on great for the hatch. All I need now, is to see what is going on in the back storage area of the SF version.
In recompense for your efforts, if either of you find yourself in Belfast, I owe you a pint or two !
Many Thanks again,
Chris.

I think I saw this somewhere around Armorama, but anyway - AK Interactive is releasing a book and DVD dedicated to the M-ATV. Together with OIF&OEF weathering set it's a really nice addition for M-ATV enthusiasts.
And a little off-topic. For months I was wondering which other vehicle had a design very similar to this beast. Few nights ago - this one, Citroen ZX Rally Dakar.

Don't have a link. Just a production leaflet sent to retailers. I'll try to convert it to .jpg file format as it's in pdf and will upload if successful.

Interesting, I wonder what the difference will be, if any, between the book and DVD and if they are stateside trucks or vehicles in theater.

Steve,
as I took the photos for AK-Interactive I can answer your question at best.
The M-ATV book with 72 pages will contain photos of vehicles at JMRC Hohenfels and of the 54th EN BN downrange in Afghanistan. The DVD will contain more than 500 photos showing all details.
The GTK Boxer DVD will contain photos of the A0 and the latest A1 version with all the improvements for Afghanistan. I promise you that you wont find this kind of photos somewhere else. Just take a look at my website www.tank-masters.de
We already plan the next books right now, so stay tuned!
Kind regards,
Ralph

Funny thing, I was just thinking last night how I should link to your website today. Thanks for the update Ralph, can you give me a rough estimate of how many of the pictures are from down range? is it a 50/50 split, or the majority from JMRC?

Steve,
Not sure if this is far fetched or not but, Were the M-ATVs ever deployed with a mini gun as a primary weapon?
Thanks DJ

No regular Army of Marine Corps unit would, but I could see it happening on a SOCOM truck. That said, I haven't seen any evidence of it as of yet. Ammo stowage would be a nightmare in an M-ATV though.

If my memory serves me right, I think I have seen a minigun on an M-ATV while depoyed at the end of 2010. It was a SOCOM one. I think it might have been a field mod though as they were doing ALOT of grinding.
I have also seen a Humvee with all of the pioneer tools mounted on the Hood. I watched them do that in 2009 in A-stan... Have no pics though.... Not a good place to get caught with a camera.

They are used to hook up a tow cable/chain and rip the doors off if damaged to extract the crew.

ooooooohhhhhh ok. I was thinking that instead of putting the chain to lock the doors on the handles they just used the shackles but it makes sense now that you mentioned it. Saw a few of these the other day in town they were in a convoy with some hemtt trucks and some hmmwvs. made my day seeing them thought i'd never see one in person

Just got the Kinetic kit today.
I haven't been following the discussions on here so I don't don't know what the feel is on it, but I was not all that impressed by the moundings at first glance. Looks a little chunky in some spots and lacking some detail.
Anyway to my question. Did kinetic use the same mold as found in the new Academy up armoumed humvee they recently released for the armoured turret on top? Upon first look it looks to be almost identical.
Thanks
Jim

And the Academy one looks almost the same as the one found in Bronco's M1114 FRAG 5 edition. I doubt they've used exactly the same molds. May be a reversed engineering?

The chains I saw tended to get thrown in the rear bed so the crew didn't have to listen to them slamming and scraping up against the door the entire ride. The pad locks were usually just locked onto something that would hold them out of the way, really no SOP on that.

Hello,
I want to add some interiour details du my kit. I bought the ProArtModels SINCGARS set and I need some pictures showing them mounted in the vehicle. Also I need some information where the Crows 2 control unit is mounted in the vehicle. Some pictures will be nice.

Frenchy is right, every CROWS II M-ATV I ever saw and played in had the control unit in the rear drivers side seat.
