Ettore,
If your looking on how to make the rubber boot part, I used the accordion part of a bendable straw to make mine on my MATV.
Brent and Ettore,
That type of Harris radio antenna should have a separate antenna couplers some where on the vehicle.

Thought so Brent. On the MATV it is located in that box that the antenna is mounted on.
It ashame you see all these nice MRAP kits with nice interiors and all the different antennas mounted all on top, but the inside is missing all the important stuff like the VIC system or even the right radio. Or Duke antenna's with no DUKE system inside. Im putting a tutorial together for some of the guys to show how to wire up all these comm's and anti IED stuff using what I remember when I was the CommoSGT in my last unit.

I was interested in 3D printing applied to scale modeling since a long time ago. I recently decided to try 3D printing by myself, designing and printing a few model parts.
The starting point was the Harris antenna mount.
I designed four parts, with long and short pole, with and without accordion.
Here are a couple of pictures of the parts, printed by Shapeways. Picture quality is maybe not very good.
In my opinion the printing quality looks very good, I believe I'll design and print other parts.
By the way, in a few days I'll receive another part I have designed: the Duke CREW cage to be placed in the cargo of an M-ATV.
I'll post pictures as soon as I receive it.

I'm interested to buy this antenna mount. Do you think to produce the rear view mirrors of M-ATV?

Ettore, I have to agree that it is time someone do the hood mounted rear-view mirrors. I think they would come out well using 3D printing technology. These items are not available in any form and would be much appreciated. Either do two versions or one version with both the old and new mounts included.

Eric

I really like antenna mounts.
Also, I've already working on those mirrors, actually. Unfortunately I'm forced to guesstimate on everything with it. If anyone can help with dimensions and measurements...

I think I'm going to scrap the mirror project. I've gotten the mirror stem done but can't do the mirror itself because I have no idea how to model it.

Does anyone know if the VIC-5 intercom system is used on the MATV? Or the LV2 or the full size VIC-3? I haven't been able to find very much at all in this area. I know the MaxxPro has used the full VIC-3 system but outside of that, I have no clue.

Harris antenna mounts are for sale on Shapeways, here is my shop page:
http://www.shapeways.com/shops/galactica-models
I've also made the CREW Duke cage that is very often mounted in the cargo bed of the M-ATV.
Again for sale on Shapeways.

Dan, nice photographs. I would love to see a walk ground. If you have more then please share as I just might purchase another to build one in this scheme. TIA

Hi All....
I'm trying to get an idea on how the spare tire was mounted on the rear rack. Any photos or drawings please?
cheers
Bob

a few pics to show some different ideas to build.
Interesting the wide views of ownership of these vehicles in the pics. You can find postings of U.S. forces joining British and French forces, to claims they are owned by Kurdish forces, to an even better blog that they are Iraqi given to them by Saudi in secret.
Amazing what can been seen on which fence you might be.
I wish I could find article claiming vehicle was painted black.
close look at a M134 mini mounted?

Hey!
There are far smarter people than me here for sure. So can anybody ID the turret in the beginning for me? It looks like the "Say hello to my little friend!" MARSOC guy is shooting Mk47 from the side of it and there's M2 .50cal mounted in the front.

Interesting...I hope it works. I recall a recent TV program where all these guns at the firing range were shooting at a drone and couldn't even bring it down as it zipped across the field of fire. There were rifles, submachine guns, and machine guns firing away.
Also interesting is that the JLTV doesn't come with smoke grenades as standard install. Similar NATO 4X4 MRAP armored cars come with smoke grenade launchers as standard install.
