Hello Robert,
Im happy you found and enjoyed this thread. This build was in fact OOB plus whatever i cpuld scratch up or grab from the spares box...no after market goodies on this..or most all my builds for that matter. Tha thin wallet doesnt allow for kit and AM goodies! I did thoroughly enjoy bringin' this oldie up to par and put my own spin on it. Later this year i hope to have it as part of a dio with a Kubelwgen and 2-3 figs, one being a Rommel fig donated to me by my nephew. If you build this i would love to see it come together. Thanks man!
Gary

sound slike my style of building - the PE for the Demag D7 came with the kit when I won it on ebay. Have bought a few jerry cans, oil cans, boxes and tarp rolls but that will last a while...
anyway, I think this kit will have to appear in my stash at some point (2 builds to do first before I can add to it again)....

That large antenna is a mobile radio communication role and was used to direct Luftwaffe bombers to their intended targets. The second antenna is a multi-purpose antenna.
Later versions had the star antenna installed.
Not the Master, just knew the answer.
Hi, Jeff
Pls., allow me an add (though alittle late, sorry.): the antenna is a NVIS antenna. These antennas were mainly seen on reconaissance vehicles.
Also, they were used in command vehicles. NVIS is a technology. This has nothing to do with directing bombers to their targets, which was done by other positions in the organisation structure of Das Heer.
Anyway, this little command vehicle gave us all an educational and amuzing time. Looking forward to see the next build.
txs for sharing with us.
~ Jeff

Quoted TextIs it a horn?
Yes,it must be it. T-34 and Willys hornes look almost the same, so it must be so
I'm not particulary fond with half track vehicles, but I can say that, as usual, you're doing a great job indeed Gary
Well, I'm only a couple of years late to respond, but only just found your blog. Building the GREIF myself, and judging by the position on the fender, I am thoroughly convinced that is a jack. A small vehicle such as this would not have needed one of the big jacks tanks carry, and this looks very like the small hydraulic jacks my dad used to have in his shop

Anyone seen any evidence that GREIF actually had the rack of rifles that comes in the Gunze Sangyo kit? Seems kind of out of place in a command vehicle.
