Thanks Frank,
I agree,I like the groundwork the best as well. I always think my figgies are POS as well as my vehicles. Maybe that's how I make myself try harder? Anyway, works for me!!

Hi Jerry,
Great scene and story. I also like your photo shopping with the background. You managed to convincingly model a dynamic dio, not easy at all. Congrats for this work!
Somewhat your scene reminds me of one of the first big dioramas I used as inspiration, the Huertgen forst dio by Tim Streeter
Usarmymodels
E gudde Rutsch an daat neit Joër wënchen ech!
LOL, that was luxembourgish and means somewhat that I wish you a nice glide into the next year, meaning also that you should not drink to much!

Merci Comte Claude!
Thanks for looking in and the nice comments.
As far as your advice goes..it's too late!! A few days ago at a Christmas party I had some 18 year old Scotch and I really paid for it the next day.
Merry and Happy! That Hurtgen dio was outstanding. What is your next project?

Merci Comte Claude!
What is your next project?
At the moment, between renovating an apartment in 1/1 scale and writing a lot on the French translation of my book I have no time for anything else. I will then need to finish the missing part on the Clervaux dio, some landscaping on a 20 cm x 140 cm module. After that, I have no idea with what I will start anew.
Probably I will do some tests to realize a convincing rain diorama. That's what I am dreaming about modelling wise and it will probably be my next, if I find a good solution for the rain problem. Otherwise there is no point in doing that dio.
Summer will then be over (that dio finished or probably not), I will make my last expo with Clervaux in october and certainly the museum thing will shortly after start to take shape. So you see, I do not even have the time to fall in a dark motivation hole!

Aha! Rain?...........I will wait to see how you do that as I had a heck of a time just trying to make the road in this dio look wet. It's not bad but I was not satisfied either. So to replicate RAIN?
That may be the ultimate project for the Comte.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they birch seed??? From what I've seen it looks like it!
If so, it makes more sense to rob a birch!!

Ah yes. I should have remembered. They are the same thing as I used for the dead leaves on this dio, just dyed green.
A guy on another site suggested them and I had a brain fart.

Hi Jerry,
Well, I guess I thought your build was something else(?) my mistake! I went through the whole log and say great build! Obviously the whole composition is great, but man, you nailed the ground plane! You've got so many layers, textures, plants, and colors (and they look right!) sheesh...many lessons to be learned from this! Really well done!
Cheers

Thanks Nick,
And you are the one to speak of layers!! Your garage has about 50 layers of cool stuff. Plus vehicles!

I have been giving a lot of thought to the idea of Claude about the rainy scene. Experiments are being made. Film at eleven,

The track is from dragon but I converted it from a -1 to a -11 telephone commo track with the resin set that I produced for Greymatterfigures in England. The bike and rider are modified Tamiya. The rest of the figs are all dragon with a few bits from Miniart and MB. Most of the heads are Hornet along with some hands. Lots of conversions. You can see most of the work back in this thread.
Thanks,
