Started on some new actors in my dio. Here is the guy actually saying"aber zack zack jungend!!"

And here are the jungend...maybe saying Ja ja Herr Hauptschar' but thinking to themselves( FU aschlok)!

They are all in various stages of development. I changed the medic around to look like his bag had some weight to it,did undercutting in all of the figs. Still have a lot to do.
I modeled the Hauptscharfuhrer after a guy from the famous film footage of Diefenthal in Stomount. He is seen escorting the Sturmbannfuhrer and herding POWs along the main street of town.... He is a frankenfig with alpine head while the medic is straight out of the Dragon kit from Aachen, just undercut, cleaned up and reposed a little with a Hornet head
Still on track?

That hauptscharfurher is pretty good my friend. He's got that intimidating, stereotypical German officer look to him. What is the footage from Stoumont? Newsreels?

Thanks Conner,
There is famous film footage that shows the Panther getting knocked out at the village entrence at the robinson house which is followed by the tight scene in the lower street right after the combat is over. It then shows Diefenthal(in fleece jacket) and guys from his HQ directing American POWs up the road to the rear.
Yes,it was a newsreel taken by German cameramen but we captured the film during the battle of the bulge. Don't know if it was found in LeGlieze or where. That is why it was never on the Deutschewochenshau.

I think I've seen that before. Sounds familiar at least. Is it on youtube anywhere?

Fantastic seeing the other figs that are going to populate this scene- posing, undercutting and sculpting is excellent- the medic with the heavy bag looks very convincing.

That's the one Conner. I didn't know it made it to the Wochenshau. I had thought we captured that footage. Oh well.
If you are really into this part of history the most thorough books out there are the"Duel in the Mist" series. Awesome books. Kind of pricey but worth it for sure.

Thanks Karl. You always have such kind things to say buddy. It means a lot to me for sure.
I have always thought that the medics(of all armies) never get represented enough. I thought it was very cool in the series"Band of Brothers" that the medic charecter got a lot of time in the story.

Funny, that was actually the first footage that came to mind when you mentioned it earlier. Are you doing a scene like that?
Duel in the mist is terribly expensive haha. I'll have to save for that. There's a book called "Men of Steel" that deals only with the 1 SS Panzerkorps in The Bulge, so I'm assuming that should have a bit of info on this too.

I have Men of Steel as well. Duel in the Mist only covers Panzergroup Peiper and only for a few days. It is very thorough and the mosr detailed account there is about that episode of the bulge.
I am making a dio of an event that took place during that time period where Peiper was first cut off.

Both figures look great. I really like what you did with the medic, adds more life to him. What did you make the officer's trenchcoat with? Or did he come with it?
Looking forward to more

Thanks Conor,
The trenchcoat guy was made from the Pnzermeyer fig from Dragon. Not the new set depicting him in Greece but an older set from the Ostfront. The lower torso and legs came from a late war dragon set. The hands are Hornet and the head is Alpine. The pose will make a lot more sense when you see his part in the scene.
He is a command sergeantmajor from the III/PzGrenRegt2 and the scene takes place on the N33 just at the entrance to the park of the Chataeu FroidCour.
I spent an hour on Googlearth "flying' down this road with my mouse this past week. The poor mans' trip to Belgium,
Thanks for looking in buddy,

Tightened up the Hauptschar a bit. Getting closer to paint

And here I introduce a new player in the scene. The older"reichsrottenfuhrer" who now has an easier job as a lineman with the Nachrichtentruppen. He has his gloves and cutters ready in his top pockets and will be holding the staff that the telephone guys used to retrieve cable in the trees.
J

He still needs some final touches before paint so don't be too hard on me.
