Barnacle Effect Part-1.

UTD: Ultimate Tool of Destruction!

Afterwards, I had to reattach all of the small parts that vibrated loose!

Vallejo German Dark Yellow Surface Primer (73.604)

That's it for now. Stay tuned for Barnacle Effect Part-2.

Thanks, Marco!

Thanks, Alvaro! Can't wait to see the Opel!

This is my first campaign. I saw all of the great builds here and was inspired to enlist at the last minute. I work better under the stress of deadlines!

I'm still marching on!

Now that I have passed this stage it should be easy now, huh? I need to find the appropriate figure to show climbing in or getting out of the truck.

That's why the door is staged open.

I worked a little on the little beast last night.

Installed the inner fender wells...

... and built up the headlight buckets in the fenders, ready to place on the truck!

Looking forward to getting those fenders on and FINALLY it will start looking like a truck.

EDIT: I may miss the deadline but this will speed things up...

(at least I think it will)

Wow, I guess everyone must be finished with their truck build except me?

I feel so lonely... the only one posting pictures now.

So, it's looking like a truck aye?!

Well, it's on it's way. May not finish in time but it will get finished.

How's yours coming along John?

We're on the same boat here, well truck... Jeff, I'm not going to make it.
Kinetic has a 31 step booklet, I'm currently at step 10 /11, the wiring on the brakes and rear suspension detailing is killing me.
Also dealing with my 2nd build on the Armored Car, my Super deyailed M1114 and so I'm not going to make it, maybe with an extra pair of hands or so..

Those 8 wires for each side of the rear suspension killed my patient modelling style, also running out of glue and paint didn't help much.
Will post some photos tomorrow Jeff !

I say we just leave it open 'till everyone is finished. I will go ahead and award those completed on the 15th then no more can join... just waiting on us.

Mine is at the half-way point on the instruction booklet. I bought the launcher tubes in the Voyager PE set hopefully saving some assembly and sanding steps.

I am now working day and at night on it so I think it should be finished being built by the date... just need to do the finishing paint work. I may have to break out the AB on this. Interior painting will say so I fear! LOL

Keep On Truckin'! (I've been wanting to say that for a long time! )

A little more progress on the lake bottom scene. Vallejo 'Desert Sand' Earth Effect (26.217) spread over Tile Grout buildup:

Crap! ... all the wheels don't touch down!!!

That's it for now.

As for mine I am squaring away the spare tire carrier...

Jeff T. Stringer: I'm in that sense, too. Don't worry. I'm driving my rally truck to deadline.

Mike Freeman: You finished?

Mike Freeman: You finished?

Not quite. I added a bit more sand last night and I'll be pulling off the forms and cleaning up the base today. Then, I need to step back and decide what to do next.

Wish I had committed to ordering the Water Effects -- I really wanna' sink this thing. Problem is: I need to keep the little 1/48 intact, as I will be removing it from its current residence to be installed on my larger 'Road of Life' diorama in the future.

Hope that sprue scraps are flyin' and paints are sprayin' -- can't wait to see more builds!

Some more progress:

Added more sand to the truck ... and since most of its details were lost, I very subtly pin-washed it using Vallejo 'European Dust' Model Wash (76.523) to bring them back just a bit. Finally, I touched up some weak spots with more sand effects.

Pealed-off the grout form and constructed a lower base ring (paint and attachment pending).

Let me know what you think.

Later,

My final installment: Lake Ladoga, Sunken Truck:

Truck and sandy base is sealed with Vallejo Matt Varnish (70.520).

Paper Soviet stars.

Base ring assembled and painted with Vallejo Russian Green (71.017), then sealed with Vallejo Gloss Varnish (70.510).

Think I finished my first Armorama Campaign. That was fun!!!

Thank you, Steph!

I thought about that and so much more but wanted to keep things less alive and more dismal looking (see dive footage: 'Sunken Cars on Lake Ladoga').

Ultimately, this 1/48 truck will accompany two 1/35 trucks w/figures in a larger diorama build (see 'Road of Life').

Just realized ... I killed all of my links by moving images to subfolders in Photobucket ... yeeeashhh!!! I don't know if I can reconnect them. I'll look into it when I have some time.

Mike,
You could re-post the already posted pictures. I'm not sure how much work that would be for you. For an easier alternative, I would suggest is that you just post a link to the album and just post the individual links to any new pictures. That seems like the easiest fix. There's nothing in the rules that say that you have to have an extensive build log...there's no mention of it being mandatory to post any WIP pix. But yeah I'd post the album link and then just post the pictures from now on.
