John;

Please do catch up with and fill in that deep sink-hole in those sprockets - one of the common failings in some of these older kits. You'll not live it down if those hang in there after you do the girl up completely!

Bob

Will do.
It's still missing a few details before tackling the other side. Also I will have to work on the interior ...
Thanks for the heads up Bob, I will hire that hawk-eye for all my Campaign builds

Update.

I got the tracks on. The tracks are horrible...there's no real way to sugar-coat them.

Painted the commander figure and placed him at the turret hatch. I swapped out the head for the gun commander's that comes with the 25mm gun crew. I have to fix the arms.

This kit lends itself for a bunch problems so I decided to take a few pictures of it outside. That way I can put it up on the big screen and see all the boo-boos. And there's a bunch of them.

So I'll address those issues and try to get the 25mm gun done for the next and final update. I'm ready for this one to be done with.

I figured I would go ahead ad wrap the 25mm gun up before pushing through to finish the R35. I've just got to paint the tracks and the tank will be done.

There really isn't a whole lot to the gun. Basically, I just had to add the shield and attach the gun to the trailer. The only thing left now is to paint the wheels, mount them, and give it a drybrushing or two.

My next update should be with both gun and tank finished.

Touched up a few places, painted the tracks, and finished up the antitank gun. I'm calling this one done. I'll take some pictures for the gallery later today or over the weekend and get those uploaded.

The early part of WW2 is of great interest to me.

When I used to take part in 15mm wargamming, I liked the fact that each side had a chance of winning, whereas in the later war years, gamers would just place a King Tiger down on the board and the game was usually in the bag for the German player.

The vehicles used by the various nations during this early period are fascinating too.

I'd like to join in with this

UM's 1:72 Pz Kpfw 38(t). I will probably make it as a 3rd Light Division tank, Poland, September 1939 as the alternative is the 7th Panzer Div, France, which I don't want to do.

Cheers

Al

But Alan... This IS the "Fall Gelb" France 1940 campaign! There is a "Poland" campaign perhaps in the near future?

So... Just curious; why is it you don't want to do your kit as a 7 PzD 38(t) C in France, 1940?

Sorry for the absence gents. Health problems, then my computer died and my modelling mojo went on holiday but it's now returned. Once I load the software onto the PC I can put some progress pics up of the first Krupp Protze.

My bad Bob, sorry , I'll do it as a 7th Panzer in France.

No real reason for not liking the 7th, I just think that they get too much 'press' when there were plenty of other German units involved.

Alan;

Just a friendly busting of small tank chops!

I'm not sure but that maybe that "well-pressed" 7 PzD had many, if not most, of the available 38(t) in France, 1940. Some deployed also with 8 PzD.

So maybe you have choices (7 or 8 )!

But don't forget... most likely they all would have been painted brown over dark gray regardless, for Poland (3 PzD) or for France (7, 8 PzD) - so you'll still get to do that scheme!

Looking forward to it!

Got started with assembly, not everything is glued yet I am thinking of putting this on a base so am leaving the suspension movable.

Cheers Rob.

Hello guys!

Today i'll start my project for this campaign.
I must change kit and i shift from Pz III ausf F to Tamiya PzKpw II ausf C (i gave Pz III to friend for his birthday..)
I'll build kit with additional armour, some PE and Legend stowage set.
The tank will be probably number 503 of 6th Panzer Division(marked C on instruction sheet) in standard grey camo, but i didn't take any decision yet

After two hours of building lower hull and road wheels are ready.
I added new PE caps on rear hull plate(the bolts will be added later because are very fragile) and now i'm working on towing hook and rear light

I am attracted also from tank number 216 of 4th Parnzer Division...
on book Case Yellow i found a drawing of this tank with two-tone camo, panzer grey and brown, in this pic it's visible on the rear turret

for discussion only

I can't see if on this vehicle was mounted rear smoke discharger device,i have one in PE and could be used for this project

Hello,
Thanks!
Neil, tree made of wire and twine, idea grew out of youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur0WUSfui6E
Plants made according to my own ideas, green cord covered with hair spray and spices like thyme, basil, oregano and marjoram, well pretend to leaves. The grass was made of the finished mat and electrostatic grass. Stone made of cork from wine, appropriately cropped looks like a stone. Dry needles of conifer and dry grass under a conifer that string again.

Nice track Pawel. You made that overall gray really pop. And nice base.

The only thing I would ask about are the gaiters worn by some of the crew. I didn't think they wore those that early in the war.

Thanks Alex.
Unfortunately, everyone should have boots. I made a mistake using thoughtlessly figures from the set.
But it is because I do not want to fix this, as once I find a better figure it out exchange them.

Pawel, I really hated to bring it up. I was surprised no one else pointed it out. You did some nice work on an old kit. I've got two of them in my stash. I'll probably end up building one for the Flak Campaign.

Hi since I will be caught up somewhere for a day, I thought it was a good idea to start on this campaign too. Lots of nice models that are not seen too often in this one. Well this is my kit, hopefully l will post some progress by tomorrow.

Somebody put this site up in the forums the other day and to say it is a superb reference site is an understatement. I've been working on some figures for my Battle Of Arras dio and this was an absolute godsend. Looking at the pics of France it would appear that Totenkopf didn't all have camo smocks (in fact it confirmed what I'd previously read and they were quite rare) and were mainly in Feldgrau uniforms also cuff titles don't seem to in evidence at all! Liebstandarte in France have them but not Totenkopf. Most odd!I've only gone through about 4 albums on there and the pics are superb! Definitely worth a look if you're doing any SS either now or in the future.

Pawel your dio looks great. Really nice job there.

Major assemblies are done, apart from some flash, not much actually, it gets built easily and fast, nice kit. It is primered and after a couple of days i'll start painting it.
