HI! You know, those sink marks would be understandable on a 1960s vintage model, but NOT on a 21st Century kit!!! Personally, I expect a challenge now and then, but that kind of nonsense is going a little bit too far in this day and age of "high-tech" engineering, CAD design and slide-molding.

It's not that hard to fix with a little bit of filler putty and some light sanding, if you're careful. The point is that KINETIC could have done a better job with their "quality-control" by intercepting these blemished parts, AND they could have decreased the temperature of the plastic during the injection process by a couple of degrees as well. Maybe if enough of us complain to KINETIC, they'll correct the various problems...

I'd hold off on using those vinyl tires- I'm sure that some enterprising aftermarket companies such as DEF, D-TOYS, VOYAGER, etc will be doing "sagged" resin tires, new wheels and PE to keep old codgers like me satisfied. Maybe my eyes are failing, but the details look a bit soft (?) in certain places as well... Will I buy one of these..? Probably, but I won't be tripping all over myself getting there...

That "Ma Deuce" is nothing to write home about, either! I'm sure that TRUMPY/HOBBY BOSS or BRONCO could have done a much better job... DRAGON..? Naaah, they're too busy punching out re-hashed Tiger Is and Pz.IIIs. Their "BLACK PLAGUE" kits are proving to be pretty disappointing among a lot of modellers. I'd bet that MENG could have done a super job in producing a Maxx Pro...

I can't agree more with you, Dennis
Why this kind of crappy quality in a new kit?

I want to support new players like Kinetic or Panda, but they keep making things hard for me with their releases...
Nice choice of subjects, but loose attention to details and manufacturing control.

I don't want to hijack the tread, so I will say nothing about Dragon's "Black Plague" (I love this nickname, LOL) stuff

you guys are very welcome to share your opinions, I kind of agree with you but not all the way, those sink marks were definitely killing my spirit, also, you can toss all the weapons come with the kit.

I am still on the page one, so i can't judge this kit yet, however, so far my impression are: Great fit plus easy build.......and those sink marks suck

next,

the Rhino plate, I think it could be optional, some Maxxpros don't have it.

100_4639

Instruction didn't work for me, I set part C7 and C8 on top(Front) of the bumper, then glued those with part C2, C24 should be at the last step.

Looks like you got it right to me. I assembled that section separately and allowed to set. Then when I dry-fitted in place it was rock solid so I left it.

I'm finding this kit very well engineered. Yes, there are some flaws, but for the price it's a great kit.

I guess at this point, it's either:

A- You fix what's wrong with this kit, or

B- You spend THREE TIMES THE MONEY on a LEGEND Maxx Pro...

YA PAYS YER MONEY, AN' YA TAKES YER CHOICE!!!

PS- There are A LOT OF WORSE KITS OUT THERE than the KINETIC Maxx Pro...

Probably the best option, having built 2 of their M1114's and the Buffalo. Bronco's kit will probably vastly upstage Kinetics

It better be good, after Legend and Kinetic Maxxpro are both released .....but price will be different as well........

For my case, had been waiting for a plastic Maxxpro for 2 years, I had to get it at some point, And, For sure, I will buy the Bronco one when It come out(When?????), But the kinetic kit is not bad at all to me except those sink marks.

My statement here may have been a bit harsh, For what you have to work with your doing an excellent job and I'm sure it will turn out great. I just hope Bronco does in fact release their Max pro soon, although it's been long while since they first anounced it's release.

Yea man , I think we might have too high expectation on the kinetic kit, they are trying to sell "toyota",but we were all expecting "mercedes". I don't want to keep beating dead horse, but those sink marks are really pain in the axx.

Or at least an AUDI... Love my '05 Passat GLS, though- 1.8 Turbo, 200 watt Monsoon, power moonroof, heated leather & mirrors, 18" Alloys, the works. She's as tight as when I first bought her brand-spankin' new back in April, 2005... When it comes to cars, you can't beat German... TALK ABOUT GOING OFF-SUBJECT!!!

Also, if you have not yet done the front wheel assembly: when constructing the front wheel assembly if the two hub halfs each side are not glued to the pins in the axel ends, and the connector rod from one hub to the other is fixed by melting the ends of the locating pins, then the wheels can be left movable. May not make sense in writing but when you're looking at this step in the instructions you'll understand.

Thank you so much Sean, great idea! I don't have that ninja fire skill, I glued a small piece of Styrene on the pin instead, it works.....

Not really an error. Check on step 15. There are panels that go in and fill the voids (E26 and E27).

Hi, Gino

I think it is, looks like they found out the grilles are mostly on the maxxpro dash and maxxpro plus at the end, and put a patch on it......even you use the panel to fill it, you can still see a big square.

That is what filler putty is for. My guess is that they left it as a fill-in part so they could later do the grills and produce a MaxxPro Plus or Dash version.
