I am on the lookout for 2 affordable HEMTT kits to do the version I just found... no matter what they are.

THEN I will decide on what to build.

( oh... and I'm always happy )

I know !
2 Hemitt.. sounds interesting, what are you planning ?

Gun Truck ? C-RAM ?

That's too bad we only have Italeri's poor kits, HobbyBoss, Trumpeter or Meng ... I'm pretty sure we will have lots of choices & versions to pick, like the T-90 syndrome..

Thanks Rob!

And John... what version is unclear at the moment but it will have 10 wheels if I go ahead with it.

Here is one I am planning for at some point, still doing research but I do have a M1000 trailer for it.

Cheers Rob.

Oh thanks for the reminder John! I KNEW I needed to work on SOMETHING!

Guess now I need to start writing all this sh, err I mean crap down. I'll get to it very soon!

I don't know... just a plain 8X8 looks great to me and a trend setter and it's different for a change. Maybe add some color to it, like a light colored background and brown as the text... or green?

On the ribbons thread I added 1 version for the Panther Campaign and 2 for the 8x8 Campaign.
Take a look, propose, comment, vote or add your own too.

My timing is never right for these campaigns -- as I am getting near to finishing the MAZ-537 late production shown below. (Though I do have a full set of WIP photographs starting from day one.)

I did however, just lay the keel (started on the chassis) for the MAZ 537 F/A missile transport pusher truck shown in these
Russian Missile Museum photos.

So please count me in!

Your pictures you come up with Michael are always breathtaking!

Hmmm... you would be the one to ask. Was there ever a 10X10 in the Maz 543 or 537 tractor?

(this way I don't have to buy 2 HEMTT kits)

There are all sorts of experimental and super heavy equipment variants. Problem is on anything larger than an 8x8 the Russians used a split 2+2 cab similar to the Scud TEL but of a different design. It was more angular like that used on the Topal.

Believe me if they had made a 10x10 I would have chopped one together by now!

Sorry Jeff but I really wish I had a different answer for you.

Jeff I did a quick web search just to be sure but still no luck on finding a MAZ 537 10x10. Every one I find has a different cab.

However I do keep finding beautiful photos of that HEMMT 10x10.

Your inquiry makes me want to kit bash a 537 10x10 or even 12x12 just for the heck of it! Two axles steering in the front, two axles steering in the rear and either one or two axles fixed in the center!

Here is the 8x8 I really want to build but now I am going to have to wait for the new Scud kit so I don't have to scratch build all that driveline and engine.

Anyone want the left over missile?

I don't think I have the stones to try and construct this monster rig!
But I might try the five passenger cab!

Yeah... I know what you mean, STONES. Or in my case, storage/display room. Or I would have half a dozen transporters already, especially the M1070 (I can't believe I remembered the correct name) and the Dragon Wagon.

I may think about that... making a prototype tractor of the Maz 537 (if THAT'S okay with John) or getting another kit of the 543 and build it w/o the rocket. But I would need a 5th wheel, unless I can add a boxed unit to the bed somehow. I think I may want to do that (because I am not so excited on the scud being on there) and I would need to build the 543 either way, might as well be an experiment. Or make the rocket longer?

If John okays it, I'll decide which is more affordable and go that route. Too bad I passed on 2 HEMTT kits a while back. $45.00 for 2.

Ahh, never mind.

I just bought 2 HEMTT kits and 2 sets of Def Models resin tire/wheels for my 10X10.

Now I am set. (I think)

Now back to cutting the yard.

Hi Jeff ,

In the first page of this thread, J Poitras(corsair924) wanted a 10x10 and Alex (Bluestab) wanted 6x6.
Here's my answer to them,
JP

Quoted Text

No 10x10 or 6x6 or 4x4, just 8 wheelers.

Alex

Quoted Text

For the VABs, Fuchs, JGSDF Type82s and other 6x6, maybe for another Campaign, a 6x6 Campaign or another Armored Car or APC Campaign.

I would prefer to stick to the 8x8, I think there are plenty of kits that can fit.

So as you can imagine, I won't change the rules now.

If your prototype has 8 wheels like this:

No problem !!

If someone is planning something like these:

I know they look great... but no.

Okay, fair enough! I guess I could have received an answer sooner but there it is... I didn't see it at all and I certainly do not want any rules changed, especially for me.

I'm still building a 10X10... just not here on THIS Campaign. I may photo-bomb with it a few times (just to remind ya) but I will use my Maz KZKT-537L Tractor kit for here.

It has four tires and four wheels on each side. Is THAT legal here? Thought I better ask again to be sure since somewhere along the way of me mentioning these the ball got dropped on my question. Now where is that guy that likes to answer questions for the Campaign Leader at anyway? LOL I could have used him here. Oh, I guess that would have been helping ME OUT.

(BTW... is that MAZ 7907 in 1/35th? I really need to catch a break on buying multiple kits with that one)

Oh, and those are awesome pictures!

I'm sorry for that but with all the Maz photos, I wasn't sure which version you would do.

I took it from this site , unfortunatly no it's just 3D artwork.

But we can dream using some Trumpeter or Hobbyboss pillows

Pillows? What are those?

I live in a town close to Bedrock and we sleep on sheets of granite.

John, a question for you: This is my first campaign - can I go ahead and begin construction with the posting of my initial box/date photo? Or do we wait for an official start time.

Not sure how this works.

Hi Michael!

No man, you can't. You need to wait the start date.

Michael, Marco is right.

You must start on official start date, 2014-12-01 .
