I know you're not making fun of me... I really did sell my choice but if the 8X8 HEMTT is not a good choice here I'll understand!

Question about the rules. I am already signed up for this, but have a problem. I have at least 9 kits that I can build for this and as I tend to build several at a time, is it OK if I start as many as I want, as long as I only enter 1?

Thanks

No Jeff, I had changed my mind but didn't remember it...
Two weeks ago I went to my LHS to get some jars of paint for the BTR...

Here it is:

Graham, you can enter as many as you want, but you need to start and finish them within the Campaign time frame.

Thanks, I haven't started any of them, but will start several of them at our club Build-a-thon in a couple of weeks time.

Hello everyone,

This my start-up photo. I will build the Trumpeter BTR 70 early version. I probably won’t get started on it until into the New Year because of other ongoing campaigns that I really must finish.

Cheers

One of the sons is getting me the Revell Boxer for Christmas so I'll be on board in January. Or maybe Boxing Day, as our UK friends call Dec 26th, would be a good day to start

Marco,
That is a nice kit take your time when you get to the plow blades, the brackets on the back of each one have fit issues.

the start up pic I was trying to upload, Trumpy's Btr 80, guess it's the early version noting the round bumpers on the front glacis.

The kit falls together, and been tough to stop !

Anyone building the same kit, take note that in step # 3, the side door crew door hinges suddenly appear, but not mentioned. They are parts sprue F PARTS 29 AND 30. Also a error in step # 4..the access hatch labeled G30 is actually G31.

I should update before I get too far behind.

I started with the lower hull. Trumpy has drive components molded in larger sections.

Drive components mounted. Next, the struts/springs for the steerable wheels. The springs required a bit of cleanup around the coils.

Struts on. Next the suspension arms. At this point, I have to say that this is miles ahead of the old Italeri LAV kits.

Suspension arms on.

Added the props. I decided to leave off the rudders for now to aid in painting.

Added the shocks to the front...

....and to the rear. I left off the outriggers for now. I might try to convert them "in-use".

Now on to the upper hull. That'll have to wait for the next update.
