G'day other Rob
It's outside a military museum in Vancouver, together with a Grizzly. Don't recall the name of the place, but it's not far from Chinatown.

John ICM looks good. I plane used this model for my "Flakvierling" Turret.

Wow, amazing job on the camo for 1/72 scale Matthew! Wish I could do it that well in 1/35th...

Nice job everyone!
Here's where I'm at:
Overall I feel pretty good about where it's going. I messed up bad with the "chipping" on the turret and it got way overdone. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet. Maybe I can "save it" with weathering but o be honest it woul probably be better to respray those areas with the base colors
Sorry about the bad pic's. One day I'll get a real camera...

I totally agree, superb paint job. Wish I was that far with my build...
But I switched to another build, a Flakpanther 5,5 cm by DML in 1/72. Will post some pictures soon. It's almost ready for painting...

Nice job Pawel, I actually like the MG cover! Think the zimmerit will look fine when all painted up.
Here's "Ol rustbucket" the worst kept tank in the german army (I decided to just live with the excessive paint chips and move on to new projects)
Some shiny spots in the picture from wet paint. Apart from any feedback I think i'll give this one a flat coat, hit it with some pigments and other small touch ups here and there and call it done!

Well, I might agree with you on the 'excessive paint chips' but, it's a Panther Man! I STILL love it.
You do make up for it in other areas with it so don't change it. This isn't a contest but to just have some fun and it looks like you did just that.
Jeff

In the “Two steps forward, one step back” department—hey, why didn’t anyone tell me that these Dragon decals are so delicate? All I used was a little bit of Micro-Sol and one of the cat decals for the turret disintegrated, followed by the tank number on the rear of the turret. Luckily the side numerals worked, and I replaced the rear numbers with some from my stash.
And my version of a ‘pin wash’ always turns into a ‘sludge wash’. As careful as a tried to be, a few of the spare track hangers popped off. I recovered two, but will have to replicate the others.
Otherwise I’m pleased with the results thus far:
On the bright side, that tail light came out pretty good:

@Johan—it’s looking great!! I like your paint chipping! How do you go about doing it? One of my (many) model building shortfalls is weathering, and I’d like to try your method.
@Mathew—dittto on what Colin said, that would be amazing work on a 1/35th kit, let alone on Braille Scale.
@Miloslav—fantastic work! Did you solder the hangers onto that strip?! Hmmm…maybe I should have tried that.
@John & @Pawel—looking good! Can’t wait to see more.

I just finished painting my Panther G. This is the mid 90's Night Fighting Panther from DML and aside from the Atak Zimmerit, it is mostly an OOB build.
I will be hand painting the white wash camo next in that wavy striped pattern (I would post my reference picture but I don't own it)

Nice job Shawn! Looking forward to the winter wash.
Jeff: Thanks! And you're right, it's for our own enjoyment I must say I have really enjoyed this build. probably the best kit i built so far!
Keith: Thanks! I use pretty much exactly the techniques shown on this website: http://www.scalemodellingnow.com/tbfinishing-armourpaintchipping
I then add in some burnt umber and burnt sienna oilpaint on the larger areas for some color variation. it should be stippled on, not brushed. finally (and i haven't done that yet to the panter) i dry brush with some vallejo "oily steel" or go over it with a led pencil for highlights

Really nice result so far, Keith. I have exactly the same issue with the pin wash.
Johan, that is one rusty Panther. Really nice effects although a bit to rusty for me. Even for the Eastern front. Great build none the less.
Looking forward to see more.

Jesper: Thanks!
I completely aggre on the rust. It just kind of happened
All in all it was a really good exercise though, got a much needed confidence boost in the chipping department so hopefully for the next build I can put my new won skills to use in a more subtle way
Matt: Moving fast! Nice job
Miroslav: She's a beauty. Really nice, clean work!
