I managed to get some time on the bench and finish my entry for the campaign.

Weathered the tracks

Wanted to depict a dusty Panther, tired after a long day on dusty / muddy roads. I used Mig pigments dissolved in water for the sludge wash.

Once the sludge dried, I used a brush to dust off the dried powder hopefully leaving a dusty looking tank

Took these two pictures in the sun (a 49 degree C sun I must add) Hopefully it doesn't look like a factory fresh tank.
Thanks a lot for the campaign. I had lots of fun and will shamelessly be copying the techniques of some the fantastic builds in the campaign.
Cheers

On the home stretch. Here are photos of my Jadgpanther after completion/application of tracks plus decals. I have also sprayed Vallejo Gloss varnish in preparation for weathering which includes chipping, fading and applictaion of pigments to the tracks.

Here are the results of my chipping. This is my very first attempt so I hope I didn't overdo it.

At this point, I have added pigments to the tracks plus rust tones on the exhaust. Also my first attempt. I am not too keen on the results. I need to tone it down some more.

A few more experimentation on weathering techniques such as using oils and streaking enamels and I think I will be calling it complete. More pictures to follow. Thanks for viewing.

Hi friends,
After some night-time overtime, I've finished my Panther G.
This time I've decided to keep him with dunkelgelb without 3-colours camo and with no heavy weathering.
Basically, he is just delivered to the unit, brand new with all tools and accessories in good order.

I've really enjoyed this very old Tamiya kit, kept waiting in the stash for so long time.
Build was very easy. Only the decals, due to their age, were completely broken, and I've used new ones.
Cheers
Giovanni

Thanks Kevin for the compliment...very much appreciated.
Moving to the outside...some PE work from the Lion Roar detail set for the JagdPanther. Aiming to have the primer, basecoat, and camo on in a few days.

Hi folks, I have been away for a while and now trying like crazy to catch up and complete the campaign.
I think I got on ok with PE zimmerit but have to admit the other PE was too much for a first armour build ever. I almost gave up. I got to a certain point and decided to finish the build normally.
I have used an airbrush for the first time but the build painting etc look rather rough. Have clear coat on so decals next then an attempt at weathering.
It has been a real challenge as I do not have the experience but I will keep going here is a pic with the base coat after undercoating.
And here are a couple with the clear coat on.

Here are my finished photos of the Artillery Observation Panther. The barrel looks funny, that is because it is a dummy. The regular cannon was removed to allow for additional radios to be installed.

Great campaign, there are alot of great models here.
Thanks,
Tom

Well I have finally finished this build. It has been a challenge in that it was my first completed build in 38 years, it is my first ever tank built, first time using pe zimmerit, first time using pe additions, first time painting a model, first time weathering a model, and first time using an airbrush. I think I have well and truly lost my virginity with a lot of things on this one. I had fun, got frustrated with the pe, and started to run out of time. I have taken it as far as my skill level goes. Onward and upward hopefully.

So that's me done and hopefully completing my first ever campaign. Looking forward to improving, building more and aiming to get as good as some of you guys. Long road ahead for me.
