Keith, looks good.
Love the weathering although it looks a bit overdone. I think you are right though about the dull coat.
It normally tones it down and blends the weathering into the base colors.
Looking forward to see it finished

Keith - nice looking build and the weathering's coming along nicely. As you say it should tone down with Dullcoat. If you're worried about the yellow/orange of the rust pigment you could give the tracks a thin wash of brown?
Nice Chibi Panther Roger! I'm surprised one of the Japanese anime companies like Bandai haven't produced something like this before now ....

Keith, if you still can remove the white runs. They look like salt deposits
No dull coat can remove that, and a good suggestion to run a dark brown wash on the tracks

Hi folks
Added the Aber etch set - or at least the part big enough for my fingers. Should be ready for priming after adding a few bits I missed.

hi all,
After taking a few months off from this build due to frustration I have finally addressed the front fender issue and primed the twins.
Frustration is still present but I do want to get these done so I will persevere and nug through it.
So here is the initial layer of paint using Vallejo Black Primer.
as you can see in the photo there are gaps between the hull and the front fenders on one tank and well the fenders went flying off the other as I was spraying the primer.
Back to the drawing board.
Plan on laying the base coat next weekend.

Still waiting for my 72nd Dragon 'parts supply' kit to arrive (who said modellers have the patience of a monk ? ).
Really can't do anything till that happens .
Till then, hope the glue dries in the right places for everyone

I already submitted a Panther G for this campaign, but figured I'd share my recent Panther family projects. The Jagdpanther is Dragon's old Command Version kit, and the VK 16.02 Leopard is from Hobby Boss and is pretty much OOB. (I know the Leopard isn't exactly in the original Panther family, but its close)

Hey Sal
Check on eBay. I've found it there. Would be coming from Poland but the price seemed right and delivery time wasnt all that bad.

Hi guys,
Got the cammo paint on this weekend. A few shades for each colour, now I can get down to touching up overspray and weathering.

Hello everyone...great builds in this campaign so far.. I am enjoying viewing everyone's fantastic work. I already have a Panther G in my finished collection and I have wanted to add a JagdPanther. With about 3 months left in the campaign I'm going to join in with Dragon's Late Production JagdPanther, kit #6393 (pics below). What is not pictured is the Lionroar detail set for this kit I recently acquired. My plan is to practice my PE soldering skills during this build and spruce-up this already well detailed kit.

Awesome looking cats guys!
I'm copying Sal with another early Panther A.
I'm going to model one of the few built without zimmerit. I believe that batch ended up on the eastern front, so no sunny Italy for me. In fact, I am going to make my first attempt at a whitewashed tank.
This looks like a sweet kit, but it is not without it's shortcomings. Unlike the newer Dragon Panthers, there are no PE engine screens. There are no radiators either, so rather than leaving a gaping void, I will be adding aftermarket screens. More annoying is the lack of periscopes for the copula, I decided to remedy that with aftermarket as well.
The turret is going to require minor surgery as the turret provided is a mid/late Panther A with no side pistol ports and a hole for the Nahverteidigungswaffe (close defense weapon) present. I will have to putty over that hole and add the pistol ports (the kit does at least provide the plugs).

hopefully went its all painted up it will look ok

I've done a lot of work since my last update, but it's been a while since I've posted any progress shots.
I followed a lot of the sugeestions/advice given: gave the tracks an additional wash of rust red to tone down the yellow/orange rust, and adjusted the water/rain strears to be less 'salt deposit'-ish. Thanks guys!!
The fun part was installing and painting all the tool rack cotter keys and chains and the spare track retaining rods and their chains.
Although it still needs a few thins done (like fix the toolbox) So I'm calling the one finished. It's somewhere between 'display case ready' and 'contest ready'.
Here are some prelim cellphone pics, 'glamour shots' with the real camera to come soon.

Great finish Keith, I'm really liking that camo scheme, I'll probably "nick" it for one of my builds ....

@John--Thanks! I'm happy with it. The rain/water streaks really aren't as prominent as they look in the pics. The camera flash makes them 'pop' in the photos. But using the 3 foot rule...when I stand back from it a ways, it looks awesome! (lol)
@Brent--Thanks! Feel free to borrow the camo pattern. I think this tank crew got a little fancy with the paint sprayer.
Speaking of paint jobs...
@Jon--very nice camo pattern and excellent color modulation. The overspray has me baffled--the 'root' feathered edge looks delicate and fine, which has me wondering what caused the overspray? Have you fixed it yet? Or are you going to leave it as-is? Who's to say overspray didn't happen in the field.
@Shawn--Your Jagd came out really well. As did the little Leopard. I like posts that have me scrambling to Google to research and then learn something. At first I wasn't sure if that was a serious vehicle or a humorous 'egg' type kit. Now I know...and knowing is half the battle.
Looking forward to seeing all the other builds come together.
