Hi Kimmo,
Nice job you've done !
The figure seems to be a little shinny from the pics. Might be due to the light, but you could perhaps apply a final matt coat on them.
Best,
Julien

Thanks Julien, it's the light. They've been flat coated a few times as I went along and then a final coat. It's trickier taking quick snaps of figures, so many surfaces for the light to bounce off and I honestly can't be bothered setting up properly for in progress stuff. And I'm still figuring out what this camera is really capable of doing, so lots of learning on this project.

Hi folks,
Some terrific work going on here since I last looked in. Well done to all.
After a bit of an extended break I got some work done of the WW1 ANZACs I've been meaning to get around to.

Cheers

Hello all, You guys above are really moving along at a good pace — great looking figgies!!! Keep up the great work!
I’ve just been picking away. I think I’ve got stage-fright or something — craaaaawling to the painting part!

However, I actually did manage to get some detailing, putty and sanding out of the way on some of my creations. Maybe I’ll get primer laid-down on about eleven of the twenty figures sometime this week.

Looks great, Peter.
I am slowly progressing. Here is a picture - just to show some color is going on and the bases are done (but not painted).
More to follow - in better quality pictures.

Congrats Peter, a fine build. The colours, particularly the red, look very smart.

My two tank crewman are now complete. I will dust up their boots once attached to the base, construction of which is up next ...

Nice work Jack, one minor possible nitpick. If that's a filter on the cigarette, I don't think there were many filtered ones around during WW2. If I'm not mistaken they became popular in the 50s.

Kimmo - thanks!
Yes the cigarette filter, I wasn't sure what to do at top end. Should be a quick fix to bring it back to white.

Not a heck of a lot of progress from the first day. Unfortunately, life happened and I had to be away for a few months helping a sick parent. This figure is from the Dragon German Fallschirmjager Crete 1941 set. So far I am looking to improve the figure using a Hornet head. The kit head just didn't have the look or emotion I wanted. I foresee an issue with the helmet being cast on the head and not separate; access to the eyes is going to be difficult. The arms are not attached yet because I will need to do some putty work to get them to sit correctly. The arms are something else I am hoping to improve upon.

Hey Jack, Your figures are outstanding!
How are you photographing your subject matter? Are you using a photo tent of some sort. Photographing my subjects is another area I hope to improve.

Not wishing to get off-topic, so please send a PM. Thanks in advance.

’Tug of War’ update:
I finally got around to airbrushing some primer onto the bicycle, barrel mixer, tools, and eleven of the twenty figures.
Vallejo Grey Primer (73.601)

Cheers!🍺

Looking good Jesper, 1/72? Way too small for me lol.
Kimmo great job, and the extra detailing has paid dividends.
Jack your Germans look very good, your shading is spot on and the detail is superb.
Mike your detail on that scene is superb, looking forward to the paint job, and thanks for the PM

So I managed to achieve some progress on my medic after 3 weeks, this is the most attention Ive ever paid to a figure, employing so many new techniques, especially with thinning the paint and the tones of the skin.
Also buying a magnifying type head piece has been a god send!
So almost there, and now he has his head on..

Not the best photos, taken with my phone and makes a shine that isn't otherwise there.
But looking for suggestions and comments in order to improve my figure(s)
thanks
Marty

Hi Martin, Great to see the Medic coming along!
A little critique: Since the red medic cross is such a prominent graphic visual, maybe work on it some more? — get it centered, correct the proportions and square-up the corners until it looks perfect! Looks like the white edges could use a little touch-up as well. Just go back-and-forth with a very-fine brush and it’ll happen! Also, are you using a matt varnish?
Keep at it!

Yes that cross is proving to ne a right pain at the moment, as was the one on the arm. Just cant seem to get it right. I agree about the vest. Thats where the camera comes in great for pulling out those hard to see lines etc.
Havent used any varnish as yet as still a way to go with the painting but i think he'll definitely need some.
