Cool idea, count me in. I've had a couple of diorama ideas in my head forever, but my figures always look like garden gnomes and department store manequins. I'd like to practice changing figures' poses as well as painting.

Great idea! the preparation work for a figure can really make or break it! Im gonna fiddle a bit with cloth and straps for my build

Curious as to if you are proposing any special attention to the 'improving' aspect beyond the actual practice of building more figures? Despite improving over the years I'm never happy with faces, for example. I read these wonderful methods of doing eyes, but in the end I'm putting blobs on a tiny area and usually end up doing them over so many times I finally give up and call it 'good enough'!

Hah, awesome. I'd say if anyone wants to do dinosaurs go for it! At the end of the day the techniques involved would be similar to painting any other figure

Well, the main idea was to have a group build where we could share tips and tricks and improve by getting good feedback on each others work. So I guess the focus should be more on encouraging new techniques and to try out new things rather than "just" finishing. But I feel that is kind of hard to put into the rules.
But i'm open for suggestions!

I had envisioned the construction, modification, upgrade and painting aspect and how better figures can improve armor/soft-skin/diorama/vignette settings — not just the stand-alone style. I've already got that iron in the fire.

My 2cents (US).

Ah, I see.

I had an idea about the improvement part. Maybe everyone joining should type up a small "mission statement" on what they would like to improve? Better eyes, scratchbuilding, repose, faces etc. etc.

Think it could give an additional dimension to the campaign and also make it more interesting to watch the final results!

I think I'll try a couple of stock figures and a couple of modded figures and see how it goes.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I should not be short of choice - I recently did a spreadsheet of all the kits in my stash and came to the conclusion I have about 800 individual figures to assemble and paint!
