Hi everyone!
A few of us were talking and the idea for a figure building/painting campaign popped up. The goal is to build, paint and finish one or more figures and by doing so improve our skills so that we at least don't have to feel embarrassed when placing them next to our great looking tanks. Anything above that (appearance wise) is bonus!
IE. Let's have fun, try to learn from each other and improve those figure crafting skills!
As far as rules go i thought this could be kept really casual:
1. Photos: Start of build, in progress & obviously a photo of the final product into the campaign gallery
2. Any figs are fine: Plastic, resin, white metal etc
3. 1/48 - 1/16 scale. The idea is to get better figures to accompany our armor. Any larger than that feels like it will become a solitary.
4. Figures can be used in other campaigns even if submitted into this campaign. They don't need be exlusive
5. Time period... a year? (feels long but time flies)
So, what do you all think... Ready to grab the optivisor and get cracking?!
Any input or feedback is more than welcome!
/Johan

I'm definitely in! I build more figures than vehicles as I've always got a diorama idea bouncing round in that melting pot I call my head. I'm already signed up for a couple of campaigns and this should fit in nicely. Anyone who's seen my dios knows there's always a pile of figs in there and I really could do with improving my figure work.

I'm in. Got six sailors to do for a 1/35 LCM-3 / diorama build, plus a few US Army medics.

Hi,
do zombies and survivors and such figures count for this campaign?
In that case I would be in - otherwise not...
Cheers

Haven't done any figures for, oh, about 43 years, now!
Maybe it's time to try my hand again (if only I can find or feel it! )! So... this does sound interesting.
But... There IS a "Figures" Forum that this seems best suited for? (And nothing I know about prevents us tread-heads and wheel-fans from shifting over to that forum just as freely as we visit amongst "campaigns", "armor", etc.)

wow, nice turnout so far!
Thomas: I think any figure is ok, go for zombies
Bob: You're right. However I thought that the format of a campaign would make it a lot easier to keep it all in one place and to stay motivated. Of course, a ribbon helps as well

Hi Johan,
Only to be on the safe side:
Count me in!
As soon as I have finished the zombies I am working on, I will post a picture from the unpainted figures which I want to use for this campaign.
Cheers
Thomas

Do you think you could make an exception for braille scale? I'm planning on scratch-building/ heavily modifying a few figures to serve my 88mm Flak in 1/72...

Sure, Could be interesting to see what can be done in that scale!
Rule update:
1. Photos: Start of build, in progress & obviously a photo of the final product into the campaign gallery
2. Any figs are fine: Plastic, resin, white metal etc
2.1: Any type of figure is OK, does not need to be soldiers. I would even allow animals. If anyone can whip up a great looking horse in 1/35 that would be awesome!
2.2: Minimum amount of figures required is 1. No upper limit.
3. 1/72 - 1/16 scale. The idea is to get better figures to accompany our armor. Any larger than that feels like it will become a solitary.
4. Figures can be used in other campaigns even if submitted into this campaign. They don't need be exlusive
5. Time period: Six months
