Awesome work Kurt!
I'm right behind you...dogging you... Building things, painting things, glueing things.... That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
Thanks for the visit Dave , and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it , just take your time on your beautiful diorama my friend .

Kurt,
Everything looks great, I apologize I have been absent for a while, just crazy busy and spring came fast and made it crazier. I do enjoy this build and keep it up, it always takes much longer then anticipated.

Hi John ,
no need to apologize my friend , you are always welcome and after a long cold winter in North America it must be nice to see flowers popping up again the grass turns greener ,the smell of burned meat on a portable grill because the neighbor forgot to keep an eye on it .....
Thanks for the visit John and i promise to keep an eye on my project...

Hi all ,
i've put this project on hold for a few months until after the summer (and i'll hope it will be great
) . However this afternoon i found out that there were some pictures of an earlier diorama (made in 2009), still stored in the memory of my digital camera .To my big surprize these pictures are showing my first attempt to make an Ardennes scenery including a Panther G tank and figures of Kampfgruppe Peiper. I was completely forgotten about it .
So , here they are ..
The Panther and Kübelwagen were kits from Tamiya.
Once again that was an earlier project not the present one !
Thanks for watching and bye for now ,

Hi all ,
i just took this project out of the freezer and i'll hope that all of you are still on board with me ?
Okay , what do you feel about adding more figures on the scene ? I'm planning to paint 4 more figures this weekend , all of them are Wss and from Alpine Miniatures.
Well then , let's make a deal this weekend if you like to see more ..........
Stay tuned .......
Thank you for watching .

Hi guys ,
* Jerry , i was counting on you to say that . Merci mon vieux ! Dank je vriend !
* Mike , thanks for having you still on board !
* Nick , a bigger base means also a bigger freezer.....hahaha i was kidding sorry for that. Maybe you're right i don't know ? Fact is i don't have enough room to store big dioramas , so i have to be carefull not to oversizing the base if you know what i mean. Otherwise it won't fit in my '' armoire de vitrine ''
I think in english it's called a showcase .Thanks for checking it out.
To all , i was thinking about to post the first pair of new figures on this side of the diorama ...
and on this side a little adjustement to the scene... don't worry it's about the dog.
Okay , thanks for having a look.

Hello everybody ,
i'm back with an update . Painted new pair of figures and removed the dog from his earlier position and posted him on the other side of the diorama , i think the impact is bigger now and the dog looks happier because he didn't like the smoking soldiers anyway....haha. I was trying to make a leash but it didn't work out very well. The fact that i'm not a very good figure painter you already now so i'm gonna say no more and just ask all of you to have a look on the pictures please
here we go ...
Thanks for watching !
Before i forget the nco with the dog holds normally a Schmeizer mp 40 in his hand . The barrel of the sub machinegun broke off and i came to this idea to let him hold the dog instead...

Nice solution to the breakage problem for sure. I also happen to love dogs so... it's a win win for me.
Great pics. Very cold.

I'll echo Jerry, Kurt you really nailed the atmosphere of this scene. Everything appears completely frozen! I love it. I'm trying to do just that on my own dio.

Hi guys ,
thanks for your comments !
- Jerry , yes i know that you love dogs and i'm glad you like the dog figure too. Concerning the breakage problem , i always try to execute plan A but it regularly turns out to plan B
- Conor , thanks for the nice comments man and i know that you've already proven yourself in making good dioramas so creating a frozen atmosphere can not be a big problem for you
I follow your build for sure !
- Sean , thanks a bunch for your great comment . Really appreciated !
Cheers ,

Kurt
First and foremost wadda a great atmospheric scene you've created! The trees and ground foliage look great.
Thank you for continuing on this labor of love and bringing it up to the front of the blog. I missed it before but enjoyed reading thru the progress. Really gives off a chilly, almost frigid moment.
Lookin forward to how you finish it up.
Sincerely
Dave

Too bad about the older pics being lost but I like the new ones even better!
Good idea about the WSS NCO and the FJ as there was two FJ units at the defense of Stoumont and so they are logical to be in your scene.
I dunno about the FJ fancy hat though. Seems too "parade ground" for a combat situation ? That's just me though.
