Hi there great job i love the way you display the ancient European Forrest's. Since I'm not building anything right now I'm humble in my comment.
Looking at where the German anti tank ammo hole in the Sherman tank is positioned would it not have misted/vaporized the poor guy sitting there?
It makes me think that anybody alive crawling out of that Sherman has to be covered in his blood.
It is not a criticism but more a thing that made me curious on the shape of crews that "survive" a direct hit like that.
Eric
Hi Eric , thanks for the compliment and your thoughts are welcome . You have your opinion about the wounded tanker and that's okay but don't focus on the tanker or the shape of crews in their tanks when they got hit . That's not the point here . The point is that the poor guy doesn't get helped and interrogated instead so for him it's a very cold (hard) morning .

Hi everyone ,
well ...the Panther turned out to be a disaster !
Everything went well until i started with the suspension on the lower hull , o man and then fixing and aligning the wheels ...... boy o boy .....the tracks o man.... it didn't work out for me so i opened the window grapped the tank and kicked it out as far as i could. A few seconds later i heard my neighbour yelling that someone was throwing some kind of toy on him ...
no no i was kidding
haha . However the Panther from Dragon is a very expensive loss if you know what i mean ...
I bought another Panther tank type G this time Tamiya from someone who was willing to sel it to me. So soon updates .
Thanks !

Hi Tim ,
thanks for your sympathy , the problem was that i probably fixed the wrong axes in the wrong holes so that the guiding wheels didn't fit very well. I bought the kit from Dragon especially for its suspension . But i have to be honest as much as it hurts my pride .... i have to blame myself and not the wonderful kit from Dragon.
To all ,
As i said before i started to build the Panther from Tamiya it's less detailed but at least i'm sure i can finish this one , i also forgot to mention that there's a commander in the cupola .
The pictures ,
Thanks for watching .

Where does the Panther fit into the existing scene? I am following this to see how you add on to an idea and expand.
You all are amazing here and I am in awe of armored diorama builder type guys!

Thanks Tim and cheers mate
Yes , good point about the Panther . My first idea was to turn the cuppola a bit to the left towards the Sherman .
But there's the advancing squad besides the tank and i didn't want to lose the dynamic effect on that particurarly scene. If the barrel of the gun points forwards you have more the feeling that the tank is rolling . The commander (not done yet ) sitting in the cuppola looks straight forward to build up that rolling motion a little bit more ..
I have chanced the position of the two guys in their overcoats , they are standing on the hull of the Sherman on each side of the wounded tanker , i had some second thoughts about that little scene and i can hear some fellow builders yelling '' YES '' . The dog becomes the pet of the senior wss commander and the translater got fired and is the squad leader now of the three guys standing near the stream .
Here are the pictures however it's not the grand final yet
The cat appears out of the fog ...
The pine branches on the Panther ,
The scene with the tanker ,
The new squad leader ,
Thanks for watching .

I like all of the changes that you put in there. They all make a lot of sense. The Panther rolling by reminds me of a scene from the movie "Slaughterhouse Five",the scene right after the main guy gets captured. That was kind of a sci fi film but the WWII scenes were some of the mosT accurate I ever saw. The author was,of course, actually captured in the Ardennes.
Nice work,my brother from another mother.

* Jerry , you have to change your post again buddy . It's Kurt Vonnegut an American author and he was captured by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge .
But thanks also for your kind words of encouragement .

MIKE !!!!! I'm really , really glad to have you back old buddy . Well i'm sorry that my dio gives you the feeling to crank up the stove again , but i have to finish this one because next year will be a very bussy year for me in real scale. Plus, the surrendering sergeant is a nice input from you so it would be a complete waste of time and effort to not finish this project .
Thanks for your reply .

Hi all ,
i'm about to give the last drops of paint and adding tiny bits of snow on the diorama so it is near completion . The tankcommander sits in the cuppola of his Panther so he's finished too .
The only thing that i had to figure out was finding a way to simulate fog . Well i've found it and it's a pretty save too!! The trick is to manipulate a digital photo by changing the brightness , contrast , sharpness , saturation and to select the noise reduction afterwards . By doing that kind of stuff you create pictures like these,
Please note that these pictures are not the endresult just a few tests to simulate fog. Thursday the grand final
with normal photos in color and others with fog
and more explanation or how to....
Thanks for watching and comments are always welcome .
